Personal preference.
I do not have them on my ’22. I did want to, because it is a truck and I feel they look good on a truck. But then I didn’t find any I liked, at a price I was willing to pay, so as time passed I never got them. Does road spray go all down the side? Yes. Do I see and chips on my paint? No. Do I drive on gravel roads? No.
Mabett just had a since Black Friday sale on their mud flaps, and they strike a good balance of price versus function, so I bought them. They will go on my ‘25 whenever Farley releases it.

I installed Weathertech Splash Guards on my Maverick, they fit perfectly & protect truck, and look very nice, like part of truck.
so I picked up my maverick on Saturday and did the basic upgrades, the storage cubby, front blinker lights, tonneau cover, and tailgate dampener . I am going to add hood protector just not sure which one to get, suggestions? Also not sure if mud flap are really necessary, again looking for feed back on

Mud flaps were one of the first things I did then felt silly because of all the underbody plastic. What am i protecting, the plastic? 😆 some have said rear flaps help avoid mud on the underbody.

Yes mud flaps are needed. I had a 2005 trailblazer, first vehicle I did not install mud flaps. After about 10 years of road salt, the bottom of the doors were rusting out. Also the gap behind the driver side rear tire needs remediation from accumulating crud. Some mud flaps help protect that gap (none cover it, that's a topic of several other threads) but it does help. I got Maxzina mud flaps. Here is an image they provide of theirs vs some other brands.

I added the Ford mud flaps on my XLT Lariat and I like the way they look, they do offer a bit more protection but being there not large, the coverage is limited. It does seem to make a difference when I dry it after a car wash as it is cleaner with less residue.

I've been very pleased with these ABS plastic mud flaps from Amazon. They're kinda pricey at $35 but they're a perfect fit and I like the way they don't sick out much past the fender like the Mabett ones do.

I don't have much of an opinion on mudflaps other than if they poke out of the wheelwell farther than the tire does, I can't get past how bad that looks. Not sure why. Makes a truck look cheap and not well-designed, IMO.

For your tailgate strut installation - If you want to replace the tailgate tie down that had to be removed to fit the strut, I've made a few that I'm selling.

Works well and clears the new strut and no issues with the cable. I have a thread here in the For Sale forum.

Yea I have mudflaps purchased from Amazon . about $30 bucks for 4 . put protective tape on painted surfaces that might interact with mudflaps . so far so good . no pictures could be loaded . similar to metalsgeeks. Also added left side cubby ($45) from ford with fordpass points to prevent crud buildup in fender .

Based on this I would say you will be happy with mud flaps.

I have put mud flaps on all my trucks. I live on and travel dirt roads and do not like the dirt, mud and snow all over the side.

I have, and can recommend, the Mabett ones. If money is no issue the Rokblokz ones get good reviews.

There are numerous threads on this forum with mud flap information. Good Luck, Idaho is beautiful!
Do you have the fender well trim installed? If so, how well do the mud flaps fit with them.

I do not. I added a piece of heavy duty rubber to the inside of the drivers side rear. Hoping to keep the debris from getting up in there.

Wifey put a kabosh on the fender flares but I'm really glad I put the mud flaps on but I added a plate cover the gap in the driver's rear fender, keeps the trash out of the bumper.

Mud flaps always! heck I had them on my bicycle in 1957. The ones on the maverick say Ford and I think look good . Tinted 2 side windows made a big difference. Factory tint. Body side mouldings look great. Raised black tailgate letters also are an added touch. Raised hood protector is not on yet but is sharp and looks to be good quality. Put on some grenade valve caps today. The Lariat wheels look good but I like chrome and raised white letter tires . So probably that’s next ? Trotter 73
