Motorcraft Premium Windshield Wash Concentrate

With the return of winter road slop spraying on our truck windshields, I was curious if anyone has ever used Motorcraft Premium Windshield Wash Concentrate (ZC-32-B2) as specified in the Maverick's Owners Manual for refilling the reservoir? I read that the Motorcraft Premium Windshield Wash Concentrate is 99% methanol so it needs dilution with water. Other alternatives would probably be the off the shelf premix brands (Rain-X, Prestone, etc.).

Not quite so bad here in the Appalachian mountains of NC.
I buy about 4 gallons of the rain x stuff. $4 each. No mix no mess. Good to -20

I normally use the Rain-X or Prestone windshield washer fluids, whichever is on sale or priced the lowest. Both brands have always worked well for me and available at lots of stores. I assume the motorcraft brand would be a higher price (never looked), can't imagine it does the job any better, just my 2 cents.

No, but I tried a "generic" concentrate when the store was out of the ready-mix gallons.

AND IT SUCKED BADLY

No matter the ratio It left streaks and later white film on the glass.

DO NOT BUY THIS ONE! Ever!

I normally do a "Rain-X windshield fluid bug remover" search via Google and it will give me a list of retailers with prices on it. The lowest right now is at Target.

I've used these tablets for years to mix my own washer fluid most of the year, but never had much luck with a DIY winter mix that saved any money over super tech winter fluid that is good down to like -30F.

Adam's has an clear/undyed washer fluid with light rain repellent that I prefer since it doesn't stain everything around it.

Hope this is not too off-topic -in case anyone here hasn't heard of this: Put some windshield washer anti-freeze in a plastic spray bottle to help scraping ice off windshield and windows on freezing mornings.

Good idea! I will get an extra spray bottle from the dollar store and have the washer solution on hand this winter for clearing any ice build up.
