What I could never get past in the Tacoma whenever I sat in one was the low front seat height relative to the floorboard - sort of like sitting in a recliner vs having your feet and legs elevated by the footrest. Just wasn't comfortable for me.

Seems to make an issue about a 'dampened' tailgate, the purpose of this being? If you can't operate a tailgate up & down, why do have a pickup? I actually had a customer stop by with a new truck that had a tailgate that raised by itself, again why & how much did that option cost? Maybe you can use it to crush beer cans. Could be so people don't have to stop texting while operating the tailgate.

The Tacoma has a higher price point for sure.

I’m curious as to what lasting forever looks like to him.

If Toyota had made a smaller Tacoma with a hybrid drivetrain, for $22,000, I would have bought it. But they didn't, so I didn't. I'm hoping that Ford rewards my decision to buy my first non-Japanese vehicle by making the Maverick durable and reliable.

Yeah, I don't get peoples obsession with damped/power TG's in a PU. Seems like an answer to a question no one asked....

But it sure is cool to show your bro-doziers! 💩

This guy really doubled down on Toyotas lasting forever. Great cars/trucks but they have their issues too. My dad had an '07 4runner bought new, bottom rusted out, needed a transmission, and a bunch of other issues. Got 13 years out of it but nothing crazy, he was disappointed with what he got out of it.

He seems to place lots of value on towing and crazy off-roading, yet a tailgate damper is such a great feature??? I mean, how hard is it to lower a tailgate vs. how often do I tow something real heavy or go off-road? I mean if I need to do those things regularly I'll get a full size truck. Otherwise, I'm good with my XL Hybrid OTD priced at $23,900 with CoPilot 360, sunroof, tow hitch, 110V inside, and sliding rear window.
