One important and often overlooked difference is the bed height.

Rivian bed height is quite low whereas the Maverick is closer to bigger pickups. This is a big problem since many coolers and outdoors equipment will not fit under the Rivian tonneau.

It‘s a huge miss for a supposedly outdoor activity focused vehicle.

Ive always like the RT1s but have only seen them driving on the road, never parked. Never realized how small they are; did not expect them to be about the same size as the maverick.

The Rivian looks like it needs glasses.
I always thought it looked more like a hippopotamus (especially in grey). The two circular lights are the nostrils, the windshield is the eyes, the mirrors are the ears, and the air intake below the lights is it’s big, doofy mouth.

Rivian work truck? Someone’s company is doing well.

Actually saw a Rivian in the wild last week, it was towing a mid sized boat down the highway…at 45mph. Not sure if it was their first time towing or they were trying to make it to a charging station.

I saw a Rivian the other day.. didn't know when it was.. looked pretty goofy (being nice)... actually pretty ugly.. now that I've read these posts.. the price tags make them even more ugly..

Interesting- because in those pictures it looks like the "reach over the side" height is higher on the Rivian. Ford did a great job cramming everything under the Maverick so my wife can grab stuff out of the bed from the sides! :)

I like the green color of the Rivian but it’s so far out of my price range that it is not a car for the average working Joe like me. I’ll take the Maverick, practicality wins!

Yes, that part of the overall design didn’t age well. Funny how in just a few year, cutting edge design that I thought was awesome just looks so aweful now so bad I wouldn’t want one given to me.

I seen the Rivian at the NY auto show a few years ago. To me it looked very cool not to big not to small. What is interesting to me about this comparison is how similar the colors are.

I'm surprised to see so many here hating on the Rivian, but I guess the typical Maverick owner is... how do I say this politely... "value oriented" :ROFLMAO:.

The R1T is an incredible truck and I love mine equally as much as my Mav, but they specialize in very different things. Impossible to beat the Maverick on bang for your buck, but it also isn't hitting 60 mph in 3 seconds or tackling trails like the Rivian. If you have the chance to drive or ride in one, I highly recommend checking it out and keeping an open mind.
