Maverick uses same hybrid system as escape? Any 12v battery issues?

So is the battery under the seat the only battery and the one that powers the electric motor when the hybrid is running off electric power only or is there a second battery elsewhere?

Yes there’s two batteries, both different. Even Tesla has a 12v.

Wow. I go through batteries every 3 years. I think the Texas heat kills them. They usually cost next to nothing to replace under warranty.

I would never bet on a Ford 'anything' outlasting Toyota .

The stock Panasonic AGMs Toyota supplies are not cheap, but you sure get your money's worth. Here in Canada the Panasonic AGM is around $500. A normal car battery would likely be $150-$250 depending on size. Then again, that normal car battery might hold up 3-5 years, vs 10 or more. Crazy.

Absolutely! The Panasonic in my Camry is over 6 years old, no sign of weakness yet.

Exactly right. Heat kills lead-acid batteries. Per AAA...

The Hige Voltage (the "second") battery is the bigger, flat, square thing in the picture above this post.

I own a 2016 Prius and it's oem battery lasted only about 4 years. 179.00 for a replacement. 129.00 at Autozone with same warranty. Not impressed. I like my Prius and like my Maverick. Hybrid's don't work when 12 volt battery dies. Easy fix.

Traction batteries in either will cost thousands. So far Prius is fine.

The High voltage battery for the electric drive system is Lithium Ion, we are talking about the 12 volt battery, which yes is a AGM Lead acid battery. Most likely due to price. A Lithium 12v battery likely costs 2x what a AGM does.

Does the 12V battery see large loads? I think the car s started with the HV battery. Thoughts on a Lithium replacement like a power queen? I am looking at putting a 2000w inverter in my truck and would like to make sure I'm not going to hurt a lead acid battery.

Yes. 12-volt battery issues on my Mav. None for the first 6 months (3000 miles). But then the dome interior lights and intelligent door-handle access stopped working. Then the lane-change alert worked only intermittently. To get those driver-convenience things working again, I would have to charge the 12v battery myself (and then deactivate/reactivate the lane-change system).

Am picking up the Mav from the dealer today (hopefully). They told me that 12v battery was low on voltage and wasn't charging, so they replaced it under warranty. I won't know (and they don't know) if the new 12v battery will fix the issues I described above. Will need to drive it to find out.

Probably some of both plus a 3rd possibility.
Some modules are not fully going to sleep with the vehicle is off. Therefore using too much 12V battery power as the vehicle sits.
