The bed on my Maverick is something I will only occasionally use so the bed cover like on the Santa Cruz would not be a problem for me. But, to each his/her own.
The other day I came out of a cafe and an older (2010-2011?) Ranger was parked next to my Maverick. They were pretty close to the same size (I didn't bother to measure them so there could be some differences.). So, Yes, to me the Maverick is a "small" truck. But, you have your opinion and that's...
I wanted a "small" truck. Ranger, Colorado, Frontier and even Ridgeline are all "mid-sized" trucks now. Currently the only small trucks are Maverick and Santa Cruz, with Montana coming out next year I hear. Looked at the Ranger but just too big and not what I was looking for.
My neighbors just bought his and her White Santa Cruz's. One has tow package one does not. Why they wanted two, who knows. They paid 2.5K ADM for for each of them. Back in the summer when I looked at one they were asking 10K ADM. To me Santa Cruz is not really a truck, just a car with a bed...
You're right, the Holden Ute does look like a small El Camino. I think that's what the new Montana is going for. I'm sorry, but this two door Montana is one sad looking truck. Looks like a Smart Car with a tail.
I bought the Mav because I wanted a "small" truck. All the other smaller trucks (except the Santa Cruz right now) have gone to midsize including the Ridgeline and Frontier. If I'd wanted a midsize I would have bought a Ranger, Colorado, or Frontier. I like my Mav just like it is.
I've seen two other Mavs. One white XL on the dealer lot and a Shadow Black one in a parking lot. Can't wait to see some of the other colors in person.
I've had mine for a 3 1/2 months now. Since I got the Lariat FE package with all the "trimmings" I'm pretty satisfied with everything. A few little things might have been done a little better but, hey, I'm really liking what I got.
My favorite "muscle" car was my 1970 Dodge. 383, 4bl carb, Positraction rear end. Loved it and it would fly. The picture here is like mine except mine had white leather interior.
Very nice. I love the color. The other day I saw a cactus gray bronco sport, it was beautiful. My Bronco Sport was Shadow Black. I liked it but love my Area 51 Mav even more.
Area 51 is a unique color. Sometimes it looks blue, sometimes blue/gray depending on sun/clouds etc. The FE package gives you the black roof, and sun roof along with the bed cover and black wheels.. Also the crappy FE decals that I had removed after they started coming off in the car wash. I...
Looks like most of the new "small" trucks will be more like the Australian Ute's with the Mav being the only truck looking truck. Here's the Australian Holden Crewman. Not a bad looking truck I guess. I think I'll keep my Mav.
My Area 51 looks really Blue in the sunlight but can look more of a darker blue/gray in the shade or on a cloudy day. Doesn't matter to me, I like the color. Catcus Gray would have been my 2nd choice. This is after I had the front windows tinted to match the back.
