Maverick-Bronco Sport

I have an EB Maverick, the wife has a Bronco Sport Badlands, both 2025's. I believe they have similar drivetrains. When I drive hers-the throttle response, etc. is so much better in my opinion. It just feels faster and sportier. She hates driving mine. Also the turbo spool "growl" sounds different in my opinion. Maybe the BS is just more fun to drive?

That's the old butt dyno lying to both of you. Curb weight and 0-60. times are nearly identical.

I have a '22 EB Maverick and my wife has a '23 Bronco Sport Badlands.
I can't say the Bronco is faster but I am impressed with the 1.5L 3 cylinder. Just need to get used to the engine always sounding like it's lugging in too high a gear when it's not.

The current Badlands is a 2.0L Ecoboost. Was it available in prior years with the 1.5L?

That was my thought, but I do actually think the 2.0 might have been an optional engine choice in the early years.

The Ford Bronco Sport Badlands goes from 0 to 60 mph in about 5.9 to 6.5 seconds

The 2025 Ford Maverick EcoBoost (2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder with all-wheel drive) accelerates from zero to 60 mph in approximately 5.9 to 6.2 seconds

These numbers may not match what you feel in the seat of your pants, since the gears and final drive ratios might differ? Also the engine tuning? And also since seat of the pants for most of us is what we feel between 20 and 40 mph?

OTOH, I'm still waiting for somebody to post a video of performance with the new Ford turbo kit. I bet another 50 HP doesn't hurt...

I believe the maverick EB is tuned a bit differently which makes it feel a bit more lethargic around town, but if you put both to the wood they should feel the same

I can't tell for sure I got a K&N drop in air filter and a Borla Pro XS exhaust
It sounds very very different than stock

Both are drive by wire, so the computer determines throttle response. Put both in sport mode and they’re probably more similar. Normal mode in the Maverick definitely feels tilted towards economy in the first 1/4 of throttle position. Sport mode wakes it up considerably.

They both have the 2.0L Ecoboost motor but if the Maverick isn't a Tremor they will have different AWD/4WD systems. I drove a Tremor for about a year and I can tell you that Advanced 4WD system has a different gear ratio and it will drive differently especially your shift points and throttle response.

The 2.0L is only available in the Bronco Sport Badlands and some Heritage editions. All other Bronco Sports are 1.5L 3 cyl. engines.

I have a modded 2022 Maverick AWD Lariat 2.0 FX4 w/ 4K tow. It is a beast. You can get a lot out of the 2.0 platform.

I flashed a 93 tune on my daughters 2024 Bronco Sport Free Wheeling 1.5L and it really woke up. The TCM tuning greatly enhanced the shifting on it. It is definitely a fun little SUV to drive and puts out power similar to a 2.0 now.
