I just switched to Dr rims and 225/60/18 yokahama s35 avid blue earth low rolling resistance tires .
My best mileage before the switch was 47 and this last tank was 50.6.
This is mixed highway , city driving . Usually 70 on the highway .
I know that these tires will be useless in the winter and I sure like conti's , but for now these 18's are blowing the stock 17's away .

I just got my worst tank, ever. 28.13 MPGs measured at the tank. Here is a pic for my calculation. Falken Wildpeak AT3 235/65/17 and i have the ARE Medium topper. I drive 48 miles every day. 70% freeway in LA. With traffic and when no traffic, 80Mph. So yeah, my MPGs suck.

I'm actually disappointed with the highway miles on my 24 XL Hybrid - I just did a 80% highway/ 20% city tank. I'm generally between 75-80 MPH on the highway. Went just under 590 miles and wound up with about 38MPG.

With "city" tanks, I can get 55+ MPG. Generally 35-45 MPH roads

So I may relegate the Hybrid to my intown car as my C8 Corvette and 6th Gen Camaro both can get low/mid 30's on the highway and are a lot more fun to drive!

I fill up the Camaro and Maverick with Regular, the C8 I alternate between mid grade and premium each tank.

I recently started driving a 2024 Man Hybrid. Like many, I was expecting gas mileage in the high 30's, but as the Mav has broken in I'm now routinely getting 44-46 mpg on highway / city combined driving. In fact, I had to drive about 70 miles in heavy traffic the other day and by the time I got to my destination the mpg indicator showed 51.3 mpg. I know I drive like an old lady (apologies to old ladies) but is this unusual? I love it, of course!
I recently got 620+ miles on a tank, so not a surprise at all.

Don't go by the mileage shown on your display screen. That mileage # is simply the MPG for that particular moment in time, which varies if you are going uphill or down hill. Only true milage # is when you go to the pump to fill up. Do your own manual calculation then.. Divide the miles you have driven since your last fill up, by the # of gallons showing on your gas pump. That will then give you your real MPG.

Only because of the way you phrased that aspect of instantaneous gas mileage as what's shown, as if always on the display.

You can choose from several options as to what is displayed - like I don't display that instant MPG as not useful to me, as I rarely have the trip info up anyway.
I have trip MPG for when I do look, which is current tank mileage - and yes at the start of a tank a hill up/down will change that figure, but not nearly as much as you use more of the tank.

But still to your point - if someone selected the display to show the trip MPG (on short trip or on current tank) - that's still not as accurate as math at the pump. (though mine happens to be so far within 1 MPG)

I have had my hybrid XLT for right at a year now and live in a relatively flat area of west Texas. My driving is about a 50/50 split on Hwy/City (40-70 MPH speed range). I don’t drive like a granny or have a lead foot, generally running in ECO or Normal modes (no towing or cargo). I currently have about 11000 miles on the Mav. I was getting good MPG for the first 4-5 months of ownership (July – Nov) when temps were between about 95 and 45 degrees. I noticed over the past year that when weather is hot (95+), or below about 40 degrees, my mileage dips a bit. I assume the engine needs to run more in colder weather to keep the interior heat at about 70 degrees. Not sure why the mileage is affected in hotter weather as I keep the same interior cab temp around 70 degrees (Unless I'm mistaken, the A/C compressor runs on electric and does not rely on the gas engine running).

I had an oil change done about 5-6 weeks ago and the Ford dealer did the recalls which included the PCM/BCM & tail light software updates. Since then we’ve had a good number of 100 degree days and my mileage has gone from a previous 41-43 MPG per tank down to about 38-39 MPG. I have heard other on this forum say the updates have caused their MPG to go down since having them done so I’m going to keep an eye on it to see if it comes back up as weather cools down.

Hoping it’s just the weather and not from the software updates or possible the vehicle’s PCM going through a re-learning process.

I still only have about 2500 miles on my 2024. I have an average of 43.6mpg. I towed my Maverick to HHI and have been driving down here with AC on (I normally do not use AC) and we are getting about 3-4 mpg less.

I usually feather the gas pedal in ECO mode to keep it in electric as log as possible. I know it is not even broke in yet but love the truck. It is the first new vehicle that I have bought, hopefully the last.

Well, the A/C eventually does need the gas engine to charge the Hybrid Vehicle Battery where it's power comes from. True it can run w/o the gas engine running until the HVB gets low. The more the A/C compressor has to run the more your gas engine will run to supply enough charge to the HVB lowering your MPG. Bottom line is, it is the hot weather. I run my A/C at much warmer temps to get the best MPG.

Yes. The Maverick is one of the few vehicles I have owned that it is easy, very easy, to exceed the EPA mileage rating. About 7,000 miles on mine and at my last fill using figures from the odometer and the pump I got 53.9 MPG.
I have a light to moderate driving style and this was a pretty even mix of city driving at 30 to 40 mph and highway driving at 60 mph. AC was seldom on and the tires are stock yet.

I see a lot of people posting their trip stats but that fluctuates radically based on drive distance, so I'm posting the stats of my first tank of gas. FYI - I picked up my truck Monday July 8th, 2024 with a full tank of gas and filled up July 19th. After many trips... the summary is 44.3 MPG and a total of 626.3 miles from a full tank of gas. I could have pushed it a few more miles since it showed 10 miles before empty, but I decided to play it save. I'm loving my Maverick!

You'll find the threads about the reality of hybrid gas tank size, and those estimates.

Suffice to say, my 2nd refill because I wanted to reach 600 miles on the tank, was many miles on "0 miles before empty" warnings - and the refill was 15.124 gal.
Every refill has been over 14 gal actually.
You had many miles beyond 10 to go safely.

Agreed about the tank size... I was a little confused after the pump said 14.484 gallons at full up.

Slippery mode is the gentlest of all modes.

Mostly an advantage in city / stop no go traffic. Mode means little in steady state highway driving.

Slower throttle response (like to not spin your wheels on ice) and gentler regen and more "coasting" (like to not lock up your wheels on ice).

Coasting is key.
Keeping the engine off for as many minutes per drive is key.

I use Slippery almost exclusively.
Once went 840 miles on a tank of gas spread over six weeks of city driving.
I agree. Have tried it exclusively for the last tank of gas and have noticed a small difference. The Mav hybrid is great to begin with but I've turned fuel savings into my own personal challenge. Lol
