I recently started driving a 2024 Man Hybrid. Like many, I was expecting gas mileage in the high 30's, but as the Mav has broken in I'm now routinely getting 44-46 mpg on highway / city combined driving. In fact, I had to drive about 70 miles in heavy traffic the other day and by the time I got to my destination the mpg indicator showed 51.3 mpg. I know I drive like an old lady (apologies to old ladies) but is this unusual? I love it, of course!
Not unusual at all. I was getting 45 mpg w/o the AC but now that the temp is in the 90s in SC my Mav is averaging 40.

I also get better mileage in Slippery mode than ECO. That, plus using EV Coach + Brake Coach screens can make a significant improvement in Hybrid MPG.

I agree with that in general. However, now that we are having near 100 degree heat, I'm wondering if ECO programs the A/C for a little better fuel economy. Anyone really know or tried this? I know that the A/C really kills my MPG.

I'm not surprised.

Am going to try slippery mode for city driving. I might stick to normal for any longer hwy miles though. Still, I'm getting mid 40s MPG 65/35 city hwy. Takes a hit in the winter but still mid to high 30s when really cold stretches happen

Slippery mode is the gentlest of all modes.

Mostly an advantage in city / stop no go traffic. Mode means little in steady state highway driving.

Slower throttle response (like to not spin your wheels on ice) and gentler regen and more "coasting" (like to not lock up your wheels on ice).

Coasting is key.
Keeping the engine off for as many minutes per drive is key.

I use Slippery almost exclusively.
Once went 840 miles on a tank of gas spread over six weeks of city driving.

I’m averaging more than 42 mpg overall since I bought my Mav hybrid XLT in late May!

Speed limit +5 or so
Small roads, 35 - 50mph speed limits
You won't get 50mpg driving 75 on toll roads
And when it's not 95 degrees out.
First 4000 miles I averaged 49 mpg.
Last 700 about 42 (A/C always, including idling)

I'm 1300 miles in (bought with 93 miles) dead of summer in Florida so constantly 95+ I'm lifetime average about 36mph. But current tank 37. I'm wondering if I just haven't broke the motor in yet

Most of my driving is a combination of in-town and highway driving. On the road I'm usually in the 60-65 mph range, not hard on the accelerator or the brakes, and getting 42-46 mpg. I did drive in heavy traffic the other day and it went up to 51.3 mpg. Haven't had a winter in it yet, but it rarely gets below freezing where I live, so hopefully won't be bad in winter. Seems like the key is not pushing the accelerator or the brakes too much.

I drive in slippery, which is lovely.
I accelerate too hard from stops for optimal, but play gentle with it at speed, and use pulse/glide to coax it into electric as often as possible - speed limit of 45, crest rise at about 50, glide to switch to electric, feather to keep it above 45. Repeat

Same. Some of my roads are posted 45, some 35. Ideal range if you ask me.
Only my last mile in residential is 25.
