I am 1,100 miles away from needing my first oil change on my 2025 Maverick XLT, and am now getting a "Change engine oil soon" nag notice every time I start up the Mav. Pressing OK on the steering wheel does not clear the message permanently, and I don't want to reset the oil life just to get rid of the maintenance reminder message. (I got it! I got it! I'm gonna to need an oil change soon!). To me there's a difference between soon and now. Is there a way to get rid of the nag notice?
I just got the Mav back after two days getting the third and fourth recall corrections done. The service advisor did not mention my oil needing to be changed at that time.
I have an extended service plan that is for a maximum of six 10,000 miles service intervals (that include oil changes and tire rotations).
I had the tires rotated at 5,000 miles on my own dime as I believe it to be a good practice. If I had not, the service advisor confirmed that it would have counted as a service under the plan.
Anyway, I am conscientious about following maintenance schedules and realize that heavy usage/extreme conditions may necessitate having maintenance done sooner but that is not the case here.
Thanks!
