The OEM lug nuts on my 1 year old, 26K Tremor are already showing signs of swelling. After the latest Works (the 5th, every 5K) I can no longer fit a 13/16" socket on some of them, and have to go up to the slightly larger 21mm. For those that have gone aftermarket, especially those in Northern states (salt in winter) are you seeing rusting or paint flaking off? I'm thinking of trying the Dorman 611-007, Amazon has a 20% off coupon, or stay with the OEM's, basically the same price with the Ford Parts 20% off promotion.

Dorman or OEM are both the same (steel nut with decorative cover) that will eventually swell. Complete junk

They're expensive, but I've found that McGard or Gorilla lug nuts survive winter use pretty well. If your area uses road salt they might show some pitting and a bit of surface rust after many years, but they won't swell and still be perfectly usable

Just for clarity, the Dorman part # I referenced is a solid 1-piece, no thin cap. I've already bought one to confirm.

Ford Maverick Lug Nuts-- again! 1758283373930-nd

Doh! I looked at this picture on their site and thought the left hand side was the description of their nut design.

You're right, their description is on the right hand side and it's solid steel

They should work fine

I got the cheapo Amazon chinesium lugs for my winters. After just a few months the black is already wearing off. My black gorillas for the summer wheels, are pristine. Gorilla all day every day.

Not yet on our 3 year old Michigan maverick. I do know it is a know issue though.

Will the chebby M14x1.5 nuts work, or is the angle wrong? Keep seeing those cheap for some reason. Solid metal, uncapped.

Just a follow-up. Stopped by my local dealer (which is not the one I purchased from) , they are going to replace all of them under warranty. I should be good for another year,,,,,,

Nice!

(BTW on previous query, Chevy lugnuts have compatible cone angle generaly 60 degree taper, but might entail carrying different lug wrench because they are 22mm/7/8 drive not 21mm/13/16 drive )

$27 for 20 lug nuts on Amazon. Lots of good reviews & crappy ones too. They seemed good quality to me though.
