I have a little over 1000 now. My first measured fillup was ~275 mi of local driving and measured 23.5 and the meter said 23.5.

The second measured fillup was ~725 mi which included 300 miles of freeways and measured at 25.5 but the meter read 27.4. There were 2 small topoffs before the second fill here.

So I'm not sure if the meter reads average for the whole 725 mi. At the end of the 300 mile trip it was at 28.5 but trickled down to 27.4 for the local driving that occurred before the second fillup.

Anyhoo the overall average for the 1000 miles, measured, is 25.3

No way you're only getting 13 mpg. After a tank or two, I'm sure you'll be in the 20+ mpg range. I'm getting almost 25 with my Tremor and they get the worst mpg of all the Mavericks.
I second the I hope not to 13 mpg.

We are getting 27 plus with our tremor and started a post about it because we were thinking it was better than most

so I would expect much better for the posters build than 13.

I just purchased a 2024 Maverick XLT with the 2.0 turbo engine. The window sticker says I'm supposed to be getting a combined 25 MPG but on the dash when I'm driving it, it says I'm only getting 13 MPG? I am only driving it around town and the only highway driving I've done is home from the dealership. I was irritated by the engine stop and have shut it off a few times but not enough that it would make any difference? I have less than 300 miles on it . And for the rude jerk, this is my first time ever on a site like this and judging from how many post's you have this must be your whole life and you could try being helpful instead of being an ass.
It seems alot of idling and city (start/stop) driving caused the mpg’s to go down. Happen to me. Take a nice long drive and check the difference it makes. Mine came up to a decent level after I did. 👍

Lack of Highway driving is hurting your MPG, On the Hybrid, no hwy driving would help. You should be going off the city MPG, because you don't drive on the highway to use the combined rating.

If you remote start, and use AC, that will take a chunk out of your city MPG. Fast starts, and not anticipating your stops will waste mileage. You need to drive it like it doesn't have a turbo. Ecoboosts all use excessive fuel if you have a heavy foot. Short trips often will kill your MPG. They get better MPG after being fully warmed up. 15 or more mile commute will see much better MPG than a 2 mile commute.

Sounds to me like you should've bought a hybrid, and your MPG expectations would be well exceeded.

California’s unique summer blend gas? My mileage went down about 15%.

Best to ignore the dash mpg until you have roughly 5,000 miles under your belt. I use Fuelio to track mileage of my truck. The worst gas mileage I ever got was just over 12MPG and that was pulling a trailer at interstate speeds.

Around town, I usually average in the low to mid 20s. On the highway, roughly 30. With the towing I did last week, my computer is taking time to readjust to not towing when estimating the time to empty. It's been fun watching my estimated miles to empty go up as I drive.

Give the truck time to break in and don't be heavy on the throttle. All you end up doing is waiting at the next light for traffic to catch you.

While I can understand the auto start/stop is annoying, if you do indeed do a ton of city stop-and-go driving, it will make a difference over time. Mine doesn't auto turn off nowadays because we are in the heart of summer heat and the a/c runs nonstop. For the most part, I don't mind it. That few seconds of engine off is a nice break from the constant vibration.
Time will tell. City is worse for the non-hybrid and depends on jack rabbit starts etc. if you want mpg I’m averaging low 40s on my hybrid with about 2/3 interstate at about 80mph. I’m still shaking my head in disbelief and smiling one year after purchasing it.

Hello, I have A 2024 Maverick Hybrid. I did about 700 miles on the freeway the first month. I was gettin about 40mpg’s a gallon. This second month I am down to 19mpg’s with all of it city driving. I do not know what I’m doing wrong. I thought I was supposed to get better gas mileage in the city than the highway. The window sticker pertains to PERFECT conditions (there are never perfect condition) That is about what you’re going to get I think. I hope this helps. FTR, this is my first post.

I think that’s literally impossible to only get 13mpg. With 300 miles not even a full tank of gas it hasn’t really had time to give you a good average. The consensus is between 25-30ish. A lot of variables in that though obviously, wait until you get about 1-1500 miles on it and then you should have a good baseline
Maybe the AC was running while learning about the new truck. Wait a tank or two and see if you aren't pleased with the milage.

Ditto on my 2023 Hybrid Maverick. I am getting 42-43 MPG in the city. I just returned from a 1,500 round trip voyage from NC to PA, probably averaging around 73-74 MPH on the highway. And at all of my gas fill ups along the way, I was getting 38-39 MPG. Love my Maverick.

Hybrid owner here. When I first got it the dash said to expect 500/tank. Filled up yesterday and it says 320/tank.

I bought it during a mild winter and now we’re in a brutal summer where the AC is on full blast at all times, plus I’m only taking little 1-3 mile trips.

I expect variation so I don’t pay it much mind. I’ve also never been particularly confident of the estimated miles feature on any car - I’ve always found doing the math at fill up to be more accurate.

I would keep driving and track the mileage old-school. Also keep in mind the sticker numbers are based upon perfect circumstances. I once had a full size pickup that promised 22mpg highway. Pretty sure they never actually happened when I owned it.

Same here. Was getting about 40mpg with a roughly 70/30 mix of highway vs. city driving, now I'm getting about 33mpg. Big difference is the AC. Same thing happened on my Fusion hybrid. Winter and summer always got lower gas mileage, but usually only about 4mpg, not the 7+ I've seen on my last 3 tanks.
