I only have about 1000 miles on my Ecoboost. 80/20 city/highway. So far the average is showing 22.5 to 23 mpg. I was just thinking that I want do the math manually on the next tank.

I just purchased a 2024 Maverick XLT with the 2.0 turbo engine. The window sticker says I'm supposed to be getting a combined 25 MPG but on the dash when I'm driving it, it says I'm only getting 13 MPG? I am only driving it around town and the only highway driving I've done is home from the dealership. I was irritated by the engine stop and have shut it off a few times but not enough that it would make any difference? I have less than 300 miles on it . And for the rude jerk, this is my first time ever on a site like this and judging from how many post's you have this must be your whole life and you could try being helpful instead of being an ass.
I had a 2022 2.0 EB FWD [front wheel drive]. I drove it for 9,500 miles until my hybrid arrived. Contrary to popular belief they do break in. My fuel economy improved with age. You are in a hot place using A/C all the time. That reduces MPG.

I did not disable the stop/start. I learned to move my foot more slowly from the brake to the gas to allow the engine to start. That eliminated the jerkiness.

As I recall, it wasn't until the 2,000 mile mark when I started to get 32 mpg on the highway. City stop/go was about 25 mpg w/out A/C.

Check your tire pressure cold, early in the a.m. before the high desert sun heats things up. It should be 35 psi all around for a 2.0 FWD.

Let’s tone it down with the name calling etc on this forum? This isn’t the place for it.

You bought the highway powertrain so hopefully that's your use case in the long run. If not, trade it in for the around-town powertrain.

Thank you! Still trying to get through the manual too. It's my first new vehicle ever and I have a lot to learn.
I wouldn't say you made a huge mistake. I would wait a while and see how the mileage is for you and your driving routine. The good news is they're holding their value very well and since you own it outright, if you're okay with it, you could always take it back and trade it in for a hybrid. If your driving is almost all around town, you'll probably double your mileage

Yeah that's why. Although originally I was leaning towards the EB because I wanted AWD with the independent rear suspension, more power, more fun, etc. I'm definitely 80% certain I'm going to get the hybrid if I finally pull the trigger. Most of my driving is suburban around town, almost all of it with the occasional highway road trip. Just can't justify cutting my mileage in half.

You're practically in Philly. I'm practically in D.C. OP is practically in LA. I too would enjoy the Turbo on the highway, but these are Hybrid locations. Go just a but further out to Allentown I78? Ecoboost all the way.

So what Mac do you have? 2.5 l HYBRID or 2.0 l Eco? Makes a difference. 300 miles? I have 30k + on my 22 XLT Hybrid. Maintaining 40 mph on interstate, rural highways, and in town. Break it in.

I have an FX4 XLT 2.0 and I average 16 on city streets, 22 on the highway for a bit when it’s rolling. If I’m heavy footed, my gas mileage might be worse. Love the truck regardless, it’s a nice incentive for me to ride my bike to work more…

Yessir, I'm northeast of Philly a few miles from the Delaware River.

I have a 2024 Tremor Lariat with about 1200 miles.
My main driving is 2 miles a day from my house to the gym at 5AM.
Las tank of gas was pure city driving and the dash said 16.7 mpg and hand calc was about the same.
I then took it on a round-trip highway drive of about 240 miles and dash said about 26MPG give or take.
I don't have a light foot on the highway so was happy.
City driving in any non-hybrid isn't great.
Coming from a wrangler mileage in the Maverick is fine.
Of course, I also go back to the days when average gas mileage in a car was single digits so I'm happy with anything in the mid to high teens and above that is a bonus.

If you haven’t reset your trip odometer.
Try that. My first 200 miles or so the computer said I was getting 21 miles to the gallon.
I rest the trip odometers and now I am averaging 42.5 MPG the last 4000 mile.

I also have the hybrid, so my mileage will definitely be better than yours
