Loud thump noise

My truck was running fine yesterday but this morning it's making repeated loud thump noise. Nothing works. The ignition wouldn't turn on. I have to remove the battery to stop the noise. Any ideas of what's wrong? calling the dealership now...

Ok, so after listening to the video like I should have, not an animal . . . certainly a dealer . . . not inside the engine, but where you should take it.

That is rather odd. But if the ignition won't turn on then clearly this is something electronic, but the thumping makes no sense.

Find the general location. My guess is a blend slapping shut is a symptom of a larger problem.

Sounds like the starter repeatably trying engage. The either not going in all the way, or not enough juice to spin.

Curious what it was...my wife's mazda CX-9 does a little thump thing tied to the electric e-brake when the brake pads are getting low sometimes. We have to do a "thing" to reset. I wonder if it's even remotely related?
