I was driving on the freeway nothing crazy going with traffic. And all of a sudden the truck reved high and then the engine cut out. I got the check engine light, battery light, and a red ! In a triangle. The truck politely told me to pull off the road. When I got to the shoulder I had no engine but had power. Truck would not get out of park. Truck would not turn ā€œoverā€ but all electrical worked. All lights radio, ac, and everything. Just not engine. It’s at the dealer now… any ideas?

There's a recall on the 2022 hybrids for engine failure with a fire, but I'm not sure if your build was included. We were told to immediately leave the vehicle in case of sudden engine failure. Until the fix is made, I don't put the Maverick on the freeway . . . too difficult and dangerous to evacuate. I'm sure we would all be interested in what caused your problem and what Ford will do to solve it. Glad you had no other difficulties.

Should of ordered an Ecoboost.
For many of us, if the hybrid didn't exist Ford would never have even been considered, let alone the Maverick. So no, would never order an EB. :ROFLMAO: Now move along to the pimp my EB ride threads. :p

Well, I was part of your "many of us" hybrid gang and endured the unsolvable no-start issues. Old Man's point is valid, I have zero doubt my ownership experience would have been much more positive with the turbo than the hybrid.
Unsolvable by multiple Ford dealerships and the corporate lurker too.

For sure, if I had to do it all again I wouldn't have bought a Ford. Lesson learned.

I guess I’ve been lucky. Never been stranded in 17 months of owning a 22 Lariat Hybrid and 2 months owning my ā€˜23 Lariat Hybrid. Love my Hybrid 🄰

First year vehicle + new tech = probability of problems . I still took chance with first year vehicle but researched turbo and tranny ( been improved in other ford products) . so far so good except for air bag recall. ( not done yet ) .

All brands have issues my dude. I know multiple people who had issues with Hondas in the first day of ownership. Multiple Toyota owners who had issues in the first month. Bad shit happens.

Maybe one day, it'll come from me, or other members of this forum. But until it does, we just need to enjoy our trucks and have a good time.

That's the thing! You hear a lot of bad news about Ford! But then you wanna take a chance because you think, one area they can't screw up are on their trucks! Well.. I guess that's that!

Kinda upsetting because if anyone else had this hybrid truck in their line up, Ford would have been on the very last spot of my list!

The vast majority of us have not been stranded while traveling.
