Anyone unhappy with the "Active X" seating material in their Lariat?

Yep, for one the color scheme is ugly, 2 its sticky and hot, 3 they could have perforated it, and in general I think the XLT cloth seats look better and wish Lariat had cloth options. I find the seats in the maverick to be the least comfortable seats out of my last 10 cars, just too narrow and not alot of thigh support or side bolsters to keep you planted around curves.

Any tinting of windshield may require recalibration of sensors!

If you get a new windshield the sensors have to be recalibrated due to differences in light transmission.

Gotta say those seats are not for me. Brown & Blue do nothing for me. Doesn't matter cause I always buy midrange anyway.

Disregard what he said. Unless you are having your windshield tinted from the outside there is no tint going on the camera. Windows are tinted on the inside and they tint around the camera module.

Katzkins make leather ones...they look nice

some posts on here with nice examples, I agree they look better than any factory options. I might get them down the road but they are pricey and you have to find a special installer.

Someday, I hope to find out just how good, or bad, those Lariat seats are.

I will say, loved the XLT clothe seats in my F150, but have had leather seats that were nice as well. Last vinyl car I can remember was my '65 stang....

Having your windshield tinted in a ceramic coating should help. Ceramic tinted windows can block up to 95% of the heat. I also recommend doing driver and passenger window.

Depends on the going price in your area, I suspect. Ceramic tinting the driver & passenger window ran me about $200 here in SoCal. Expect another $200 for the windshield. I haven't done the windshield yet. I need to look into whether that will effect any sensors. I think I'll start a thread about that.

Looks like I am in the minority about the Lariat seats, one of several reasons I chose NOT to get the Lariat trim is the seat color. It reminds me of the seat color in the F-series King Ranch trim, which I do not like.

While I can't say it is the reason we didn't get the lariat, I definitely prefer the seats in the XLT. Once we sat in the seats and listened to the B&0 stereo, we realized we weren't missing much not going for the lariat lux.

How much does the tinting cost?

220 for all doors and back window. 160 for windshield. Suntek ceramic tint.

I had leather seats in my last vehicle for six years, and those were hot, too. Compared to leather, the Active-X is less supple but comfortable to me, and I suspect that the Active-X is more durable, which is a problem I noticed with the leather after several years.

You are going to be shocked if you think active x is more durable than leather. ActiveX is just vinyl. It will start to tear and rip off in chunks. Leather if treated and cleaned properly should last many many years.
