I picked up my third Maverick on Jan 13. The first was a Lariat FX4, then a Lariat Lux Hybrid, then a random Porsche Cayenne Diesel, and now a '25 Lobo High. I went in to test drive a '25 Lariat Hybrid but was disappointed. Almost as a joke, I asked the salesman to pull the Lobo around. Turns out, I loved it. It sounds better, the turbo adds to the feeling of fun, and the frame handles like a civic that is also benefiting from some rear end action. Shoutout to Interstate Ford in Miamisburg, OH for the absolute best buying experience I've had.

Thus, begins my Lobo Log-o.

My plan is to log everything here for everyone to see. This will include categories of:

2. Fuel and Mileage
3. Maintenance
4. Accessories and Modifications
5. Problems and Recalls

My first project! A dog bench for my needy little guy. He has always been very sensitive in cars, and unfortunately the hammocks are a no-go for him. He refused to get in the Cayenne on his own so I wanted to make a real effort to make something he would like. Here's what I came up with:

Some thick plywood, using locking hinges, on adjustable legs to give a precise level that goes in and out pretty easily. I used 2 inch memory foam/gel pad and wrapped it in waterproof polyester canvas for durability. This thing is stable, strong, and comfortable! With the added benefit of being extremely easy to clean. EVA Form strips keep abrasion down on the console and seat backs.

All measurements were eyeballed and all cuts made on my $35 Skil Jigsaw cutter. Precision was not the goal haha

I like that platform idea
I don't have any pets riding around with me, but, I certainly think your design would work excellent for carrying items in the rear passenger area without worrying about damage to the seat

It works great as a platform and extremely stable in all directions. Highly recommend it if you need something flat and want to protect the seats. If you want to copy the legs and hinges, links are in the 4. Accessories and Modifications Google Sheet Linked above.

I appreciate it, but I have the same one and my dog is not a fan (of any hammock). Plus, showing me a cheap alternative after I have already made the bench is kinda silly.
