Build Log: 2024 Lariat Tremor "Poundcake"

Forty Grand is way more than we wanted to spend, but we got what we wanted with a decent discount off of sticker. I am not thrilled with the quality of the plastic in the interior, along with the "Tempo/Topaz Blue" of the plastics, but it is an expensive version of an inexpensive vehicle. I love the Blind Spot Monitoring, but we really miss the 2-setting memory for the power seat that the Escape had.
When we first started discussing the Maverick, I gave the Mrs. the choice of lifted or lowered, and she chose lowered; I think she misses my '04 Ranger. I do love how these trucks look lowered with color-matched plastics, and that would have been my first choice, but it's ultimately her vehicle, so lifted it shall be. Non-lowered makes more sense for us anyway, the ST is low enough. Plenty of options to make it our own, which is what I really care about.

LMAO @ “Tempo/Topaz Blue!” I won’t be able to unsee that now. This is actually my second Maverick—I had an XLT (no Lux) before. I didn’t mind “cheap and cheerful” on that one so much. I gave serious consideration to ordering a Lobo because I love the Lobo wheels and the bigger screen/360 camera available on the ’25, but I hate the front end. Gotta say, I really like the customizations you’ve done so far—they take it to the next level. Anyway, I hope you and your wife enjoy your Tremor as much as I do mine. It still brings a smile to my face every time I peek in the garage.

It's funny that you mention Eagle Bridge; my Focus ST is currently in storage at a coworker's barn in Eagle Bridge. We'll probably get it Fluid filmed before the salt starts going down, Blizzaks and crappy wheels from the Escape will be going on once the correct size lug nuts get here. I have all sorts of M12s for all of the Escapes and Foci over the years, but did not realize that the Maverick was M14 until the other day.

Engaged "Winter Mode" this past weekend. I installed the old Winter setup from the Escape with 215/60R17 Blizzaks on and old set of "lace" alloys; it looks terrible, but they're paid for and have a ton of Winters left in them. I also made an appointment to have it WaxOyl'd, but I can't get it in until January.
The new wheels and tires arrived today from TireRack. Falken Wildpeak AT4 245/65R17s mounted on Enkei Performance "Adventurer" in Bronze. I went back and forth for a couple of weeks between the 65 and 70 aspect ratios on the tires; the 65s seem to be the sweet spot. I'll get some pics hopefully this weekend; setup won't be going on until probably April though.

I also made an appointment to have it WaxOyl'd, but I can't get it in until January.

I've taken my ST as far as I'm going to, so it's the Maverick's turn. My Wife fully understands and appreciates that doing stuff to our vehicles is my passion. Second time is the charm-she's a keeper!

The parts pile keeps growing. It's going to be a busy Spring when it finally gets here. Full Muslogy interior trim kit, aluminum knob covers, auto-dimming mirror, wheels and tires, still debating whether or not I'm going to install the Eibach lift springs, JJC grill and ditch light brackets along with running the wiring harnesses and mounting lights, Mabett underbody panel, AFE catback, and vent visors, and probably some other stuff that I'm forgetting.

The first thing to go on was a hydraulic tailgate assist.

If you want to replace the tailgate tie down bracket that had to be removed to fit the assist strut, I've made a few that I'm selling.

Works well and clears the new strut and no issues with the cable. I have a thread here in the For Sale forum.
