I bought an XLT and then changed my mind and ordered a Lariat. Drove the XLT for about 3-4 months and the dealer (after haggling) gave me $2000 more then I paid for it. That's value.I almost bought a Maverick about a month or so ago to replace my 2004 Ranger (handing it down to my kid, what a champ the Ranger's been) when, on the way to the dealer, I received a call that a Stop Sale had been implemented and my wife and I had to turn around and go home empty-handed (I had already driven one previously but hated the stock interior). After sitting on it for a week, I decided to just go ahead and order one from a dealer closer to me with everything I wanted and nothing I didn't (Eruption Green XLT, Ecoboost, Black Appearance Package, Luxury Package, Spray-In Liner). Got the employee pricing, so we're sitting at $34,500 (this includes delivery/destination) plus registration, doc fee, etc. Since then, all I've had time to do is more research. Here, Reddit, YouTube, etc. The Maverick looks like everything I want, but the constant recalls and issues- leaks, battery drain, CLIPS even, etc. - have me a bit spooked as the build date (week of 6/30) grows ever closer. I have a whole checklist of things to look over and test when the truck is delivered, but that will only tell me so much and can't cover everything. You all have so much knowledge and experience. Are you happy with the purchase? Would you get one again? Would you recommend it to your friends and family? Are the stock speakers THAT bad? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
I can only relay my experience. I ordered a '23 Lariat in Sept 2022 and picked it up from the dealer March 2023. It has the 2.0 EcoBoost, AWD, Luxury package, and opted for the full-size spare. The only option available at that time I did not get was the 4K towing package. I wish now I had gone ahead and ordered it even though I have not towed anything to date.I almost bought a Maverick about a month or so ago to replace my 2004 Ranger (handing it down to my kid, what a champ the Ranger's been) when, on the way to the dealer, I received a call that a Stop Sale had been implemented and my wife and I had to turn around and go home empty-handed (I had already driven one previously but hated the stock interior). My 76 y.o. neighbor was unloading bags of mulch from his Colorado. I had walked out to the mail box so walked over to chat. He asked if I had trouble climbing up to unload my Maverick. I said NOPE, don't climb up. I can load bags of mulch and unload by reaching over the sides or drag them to the tailgate easily. I went and picked up 20 bags that day and 20 more the next. This truck is even better than my 1992 Ranger which I loved.24 Lariat Ecoboost Love it. Seems like the hybrids have more issues the gas only. Getting about 27 mpg on short jaunts and push 30 mpg on extended trips. I’ve had all sorts of makes and models since I started driving in the late 1950s and this is the best, especially with all the driving aids at my age.

The Maverick has been the best new vehicle I have ever owned. The turbo EcoBoost is very responsive if you need quick acceleration. I have used non-ethanol gas exclusively, 89 octane at times but more recently 93 octane, although it's a little more expensive per gallon than the equivalent 10% fuel. While some have been dissatisfied with the B&O sound system, for the type of music I enjoy it's more than sufficient.
I would not hesitate to buy another Maverick, although I don't like the redesigned fascia around the headlight.

I had a 2021 Super Crew XLT 4X4 F-150 before the BS BB and now the Maverick and hauled Mulch in the F-150 and 30 bags of 1.5 cubic feet bags of Mulch last year in the Maverick. And Yes the Maverick was much easier to unload the Mulch. I didn't have to load the Mulch Lowes did that.My 76 y.o. neighbor was unloading bags of mulch from his Colorado. I had walked out to the mail box so walked over to chat. Your neighbor is 76 yo. Did you help him unload mulch from his truck ?My 76 y.o. neighbor was unloading bags of mulch from his Colorado. I had walked out to the mail box so walked over to chat. Nope, and he would have been offended if I had. BTW my fiance is 76 also but I wouldn't let her unload mulch at all.Your neighbor is 76 yo. Did you help him unload mulch from his truck ?
the lowe's stuff is ok for larger 'in the backyard' larger areas in terms of keeping the weeds out and the price is good, but , yeah, the scotts stuff in the front and where ever else you care about what it looks like. I top off the lowes stuff with an inch or so in the yard with the scotts.I didn't snap a picture but I hauled the 20 bags of 1.5 cu/ft and closed my hard cover over it,. I don't like to drive with it flipped up and didn't feel like removing it although it is easy to do. Plus The Home Depot is less than a mile as the crow flies from my house so 2 trips is no big deal. That just means I get to drive my Maverick more.
EDIT: I bought the Scott's mulch also and it is 100% better than the crap I got from Lowe's last year. I raked it out of the beds and repurposed it around some junipers that hide it anyway.
Last year we bought 40 bags of Lowes brown mulch and the color consistemcy was terrible. The color in some of the bags were so drastically different that we had to separate them because it would have looked terrible if they were in a shrub bed together.the lowe's stuff is ok for larger 'in the backyard' larger areas in terms of keeping the weeds out and the price is good, but , yeah, the scotts stuff in the front and where ever else you care about what it looks like. yeah that's why you 'top them off' with the Scotts. Lowes is basically for providing the core 'keep the weeds out' - the scotts is for that and aesthetics.Last year we bought 40 bags of Lowes brown mulch and the color consistemcy was terrible.
