Seems to me you're doing this backwards, should do your research before buying not after.
That's fair. I did do a fair bit of digging, but there's always more to uncover. I do actually feel better about my decisions to this point after all of these responses, good, bad, and indifferent, and I get to test drive it and inspect it before I sign off and take it home once it's actually built and delivered, so I've got that, too.

The automobile market is messed up, though. $35K for a few perks on the cheapest truck on the market, $10K+ if I want something "better", or completely switch tracks to a different kind of ride altogether.

I almost bought a Maverick about a month or so ago to replace my 2004 Ranger (handing it down to my kid, what a champ the Ranger's been) when, on the way to the dealer, I received a call that a Stop Sale had been implemented and my wife and I had to turn around and go home empty-handed (I had already driven one previously but hated the stock interior). After sitting on it for a week, I decided to just go ahead and order one from a dealer closer to me with everything I wanted and nothing I didn't (Eruption Green XLT, Ecoboost, Black Appearance Package, Luxury Package, Spray-In Liner). Got the employee pricing, so we're sitting at $34,500 (this includes delivery/destination) plus registration, doc fee, etc. Since then, all I've had time to do is more research. Here, Reddit, YouTube, etc. The Maverick looks like everything I want, but the constant recalls and issues- leaks, battery drain, CLIPS even, etc. - have me a bit spooked as the build date (week of 6/30) grows ever closer. I have a whole checklist of things to look over and test when the truck is delivered, but that will only tell me so much and can't cover everything. You all have so much knowledge and experience. Are you happy with the purchase? Would you get one again? Would you recommend it to your friends and family? Are the stock speakers THAT bad? Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
I can't answer for you but as for me the answer was YES, I bought a 2025 ruby red XLT Maverick (hybrid) and picked it up near the 1st of March. I now have almost 5,000 miles on it with an average MPG of 38.6. I added the spray in bed liner and now an A.R.E. topper. My older vehicle was a 1995 XLT Ranger with a 3.0, 5 speed sitting on 20" rims and had a custom Memphis sound system that took the place of the jump seats in the back. I ended up selling it to my salesman. I'm hoping to be able to post both the Ranger and Maverick on here soon.

Driving a 2022 XLT Hybrid that I got after waiting 8 months and paying $23,990. I now have about 36,800mi and absolutely love this truck. I'm scared to tell you my mileage figures because I don't like being called a liar. I only reset my MPG's at oil change(10,000mi) after first one at 5000. Aw go ahead and bad mouth me; I've never gotten less than 42.2MPG. I don't drive it hard, haul very little, and am usually alone in the truck. Last 1600mi I've tracked 45.1 MPG!! That will go down during the summer. Now, those speakers; the stock speakers are fine, just not nearly as good as after market. I'm not a sub-woofer guy, but get you some nice door and rear speakers and then sign up for a music service( Spotify, Apple, etc). WOW, how fun is it listening to my 70's playlist! BTW, I used to be a Ford Dealer (Dad and me) for 48yrs. This may be my favorite vehicle ever. After we sold the dealership, I was still registered at several major auctions. I got on their sites 6-10 months after purchasing my Maverick, and found out I could've sold it at auction for $8-9000 more than I paid for it even with close to 10,000mi on it. Several owners on this site are 100% correct. You WILL read about ANY problems that ANYONE is having! Too often I think they don't consider the price point. Enough from me---GET YOUR MAVERICK!!

I bought the '23 XLT Hybrid. Love it. Is everything I wanted, and more. The few recalls they've had, my dealership actually sent someone out to my home to handle the software updates that were needed. Took 'em about 20 minutes for each visit. No big deal as far as I am concerned.

I still have my old faithful, 2006 F150 that I ordered exactly as I wanted. Still love it. The standard tranny is too hard for me to drive all the time. I had one knee done in April, the next is in October.

Right before they did my knee, my sweet wife bought me a new 2025 Maverick XLT 2.0 that is loaded with it all. It is also in my favorite pearl white color and has a matching LEER fiberglass topper on it. I love it. Our dealer also offered LIFETIME powertrain warranty, 3 years free service & maintenance, and the protective film with ceramic coating on the body. $36k cash.

I really am enjoying this vehicle and I have to recommend it to all my family and friends. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

My favorite things about this ride is how easy it is to get in and out of, and to drive. I like to say that this Maverick is a perfect geezer ride. I’m a worn out 66 years old.

Is it a good buy? Well if someone needs a small pickup, there's only one other option, unless they cross-shop up to "medium" pickup.

If someone needs a hybrid commuter car, the Prius is about the same price ranges and has a gas mileage advantage but a practicality disadvantage.

If someone needs a 4door vehicle of any sort, it depends on what they're looking for if the Maverick is a good buy compared to it......

I have 2023 XLT Ecoboost FX4 and some other options. I love that engine and how the truck handles the driving.

There are a few small quirks in the infortainnment, but i just have to reboot it.

I would buy this truck again any day.

I would be curious how the new 2025 Hybrid AWD would drive.

Enjoy it!

The Maverick is 500% worth it.

One year on my Hybrid
Seven months first Tremor [ordered it third]
Thirteen months on my Second Tremor [ordered it Second]

Don't give up. Don't buy a Santa Cruz it's not even close to a Maverick. If you need to buy used they are out there. Offer up, market places, carmax.

You got this.

Ordered my Lariat in Aug 24. Eruption Green, 2.0 Ecoboost. Delivered Jan 25. Never owned a Ford before. 3800 miles in. Love it - zero issues - gas mileage as estimated by Ford (maybe a bit better). Perfect for me. Don't need a full or mid-size truck. Live in the Eastern UP of Michigan. Did great in the winter with the Goodyears Ford put on it. Put a Real Truck tonneau and elevate rack on it. Get asked about my truck 2-3 times per week when I am out and about. There are 4 in our town of 500 now. Pulled a trailer short distance - launched a 3000# boat - easy. If I wrecked it - would get another.

To each according to one's likes and dislikes. I'm still enjoying my 22 xlt. As for the speakers....they give Willie and Waylon a sound
