I am not especially tall or large yet when exiting the driver seat I found the door opening to tight.
Do you have the same experience?
6 feet tall. No problems. But, I do have my seat at the very lowest position.

Getting in and out is not an issue. The seating position, however . . .

I'm 6'2, but that's with 6' legs (32 inseam) and a 6'4" torso (36" sleeve).

I initially looked at the maverick for me.

With the seat all of the way back I could not fully extent my left leg. As in, with my foot flat on the firewall, my knee was still bent and my thigh not resting on the seat. Now, if the seat tilted like a normal power seat, I could take up slack by putting the front up and the back down. But, no.

So we moved on to thinking an F-150 for me, and then added a Maverick for my wife.

When I had her to a lot to look at colors, they asked me to sit in one again. This one was a lariat, and I could fully extend my leg.

I'm still getting the F-150 for me, though :teehee:

about a decade ago, I took my Miata to San Diego (350 miles). I was in pain about halfway there, from the unsupported thigh. But with a nice pillow for it to rest on, I had no problem going the 500 miles to Reno. Both trips (and nearly all other driving) with the top down, of course: the roof is marginally higher than my eyebrows, but not all that much!

6'1", and the door is plenty large enough for me.

I consider a cab that is just big enough to be much better than the alternative of bigger than necessary. I also like 2 seat convertables.

I'm 6'3 215. If it was a car probably not, but it sits up a bit higher so I don't need to extend my legs as much and can sit a bit closer which I kinda like where my arms aren't as extended to the wheel.

Getting in and out is no problem. My wife is 5'5" and this was her only truck she didn't mind getting in and out of where it wasn't a hop down.

6 foot, big dude, not only do I fit fine but I can sit behind myself comfortably on the driver's side. I do like to sit upright in the Mav, that might help some. I've noticed some people (like my SO) seem to like to drive almost laying down...I thinkt that hurts knee room even more than sliding the seat back.

Tell that to the people on TLC, My 600 pound Life show.
Pretty sure they're not shopping Mavericks. Unless they're planning on riding in the bed, but that's not legal in the US.

Generally unibody vehicles are a bit tighter to get in an out of than body-on-frame vehicles due to the thicker pillars and higher door sills that make up the structure of the chassis. The Maverick is actually easier for ingress/egress than other unibody vehicles I've owned. Try getting in and out of the back seat of a 4-door Jeep Cherokee sometime. Talk about tight...

Did anyone notice how far to the right the gas pedal is because of the narrow space at your feet. It's easy to get used to. With a 12 or larger, I think you could hit brake pedal while stepping on the accelerator if not careful.

Did anyone notice how far to the right the gas pedal is because of the narrow space at your feet. It's easy to get used to. With a 12 or larger, I think you could hit brake pedal while stepping on the accelerator if not careful.
Size 13 feet here and I haven't had that problem.

Every time I see this thread title pop up on "what's new", I chuckle. I guess because I have an inherently dirty mind. Doh, I said "pop up", there I go again.

Here goes…. I’m 6’3 and 245 lbs. I find the compact Maverick to be perfect. I didn’t want a full sized truck. But given its smaller overall size, the size and proportions of the door openings of the Maverick are ideal for me to get in and out unimpeded.

This is in sharp contrast to my Tesla model S, which is a full sized sedan. Not only is the model S door opening much shorter because it is a sedan, but the B pillar is too far forward. In most cars, the B pillar is behind the driver’s head, which improves lateral visibility and ease of ingress/egress. In Tesla vehicles, the B pillar is positioned lateral to the drivers head, at least for tall drivers that have the seat moved rearward. This is great for crash ratings because it increases survivability in side impacts. The downside, and this is a HUGE downside, is that you can’t just exit the vehicle by moving sideways, or your shoulder will hit the B pillar. You have to lean forward and slide your butt forward, before moving laterally to clear the door opening.

I’m ok with this added safety feature in the Tesla, because I commute 90 miles per day at 80 mph, and I only have to get in and out twice a day.

But on my days off, it is a real pleasure to drive the Maverick to the grocery store, the gym, Home Depot, etc., getting in and out multiple times while taking care of my chores.
