Is remote start worth it or will the app be good enough?

Thank you for your advice - if just a tad tardy. I did in fact revise my order and add the remote start. 11 months later I took delivery of my truck. Fast forward to today and the Ford app is absolutely useless and only works when my truck is running (using the app to lock/unlock and remote start are a bit unnecessary once its running).

So, in hindsight your advice is/was the right thing to do!?
Yes, very much so.

I have just placed the order for my hybrid so I have a little time to add it... My last 2 cars have had remote start. I sort of convinced myself it might not be needed but I have already picked almost every upgrade inside the cab and safety feature do I stop at remote start? I realize the truck can be started with the app, but is it Bluetooth (range?) or cellular connected (subscription?)
It will depend on the person. I live in Minnesota, it's pretty cold right now, and if I'm heading out from a basketball game, it's going to be about 5 minutes to warm up my truck. I part right by a doorway to get inside, and the arena is warm so we leave our jackets in the vehicle as I don't want to deal with them during the game. So, I'm a quarter mile from my truck when I want it to start warming up. The app is the only thing that works there. Same if going shopping or to my kids events, etc. My son's concert is wrapping up, hit start on the app, warm truck to get home.

Now I've got a Tesla and the phone is the only key so I've been using an app for remote start for years here so I'm kinda used to that, their app is a bit quicker to respond, but I've found that the watch works well with the fordpass app (it did shut down and I had to reinstall after the latest UI update). There's not really a lot of times I am close to my vehicle for a fob where I want a remote start. Even if I've parked it outside the garage, I can remote start from the couch or bedroom, rather than grab the keys downstairs.

The one thing I do like about the app is being able to lock your vehicle or unlock it anywhere. My Tesla locks when I walk away, so there's times I'll question if I remembered to lock the truck. I do wish I could control the windows from my app though and roll them down in summer before I go out to the truck. But for me, I don't think I'd use the key fob if I had that option.
