The dealer I used (Fred Beans) has multiple Ford Dealerships in PA. Is the dealership size (and allocations) based on the individual location volume or the volume of all locations together?

Think it's a great question. I would think the dealer could move builds between sites to maximize allocations.

Probably a question @KevCuRaoi or @fordvideoguy could answer. It might depend on how the dealership is structured: independent dealerships under one owner or one dealership with multiple locations? The former would mean each location has its own allocation pool it earns. The latter means they share an allocation pool. But that is a WAG on my part.

There is no good answer. How can anyone here know how much volume your specific dealer does regardless if it's one or a group? There could be a dealer with mega sales through one location, and a dealer group that is small with multiple locations.

offhand im thinking of chapman they have multiple ford locations throughout PA and from my conversations with them they DO NOT share allocations

That's how my dealer is. They have multiple locations throughout the state and I'm willing to bet they all have their own allocations. But there is a dealership in one of the larger cities that only has one other location about six miles away in the suburbs. Does that technically count as one dealership and one set of allocations? I think that is why the answer can't really be known without knowing how the dealerships are structured.

I believe it receives allocations for each location but I'm at a single point dealer with one location so I can't answer that for sure.

It very well may depend on how the dealership is structured......

I work for a small, rural, family-owned dealership, so I don't have much insight into the large and multi-store dealerships.

In the case of the local ones that I know more about, the different locations have their own sales code and P&A code, so I do believe that Ford would treat them separately as to allocations.

But that doesn't mean that they don't "swap" allocations internally. The main/larger location might also "siphon" off some allocation from the satellites to support the main store?

My guess is that only volume defines dealer size. I would expect that each location is a separate business even if it rolls up to a multi-location corporation. For comparison, I would consider a dealership like Lamoreux Ford in MA a small dealership and Wiscasset Ford in ME a large dealership, even though both are single-location dealerships.

Good responses. 2 of their dealerships are within 5 0r 6 miles of each other where I made my order. And there are others as part of the same family of dealerships.
