Is remote start worth it or will the app be good enough?

I use the app to schedule startup, super handy when you know what time you plan on leaving…

Again, the settings are in the vehicle. Not the app. Note the manual directs you to use the steering wheel controls. :)
Oops, my bad☹ I missed the steering wheel part. It’s too hot right now to go out there and set it so I might have to wait until tomorrow morning.

My double bad☹ I couldn’t wait until tomorrow morning so I got in my 100° truck and checked my vehicle settings. Sure enough, the remote for climate and steering wheel/seats was already set to auto! You made my day! Thank you! Another great feature on the Maverick that I was missing 😖Dang this is the best group ever!

I have just placed the order for my hybrid so I have a little time to add it... My last 2 cars have had remote start. I sort of convinced myself it might not be needed but I have already picked almost every upgrade inside the cab and safety feature do I stop at remote start? I realize the truck can be started with the app, but is it Bluetooth (range?) or cellular connected (subscription?)
Is it still $150 to add remote start?
If that's the case I would buy the Perimeter Plus Alarm for $190 which gives you 2-stage shock detection and alerts through Ford Pass App, as well as remote start with the factory keyfob.
Easy self install.

Honestly that's not a problem for me, I can wait! My current ride is running great and honestly I am sad to be looking to replace it. In the 15 years I have had it all I have had to fix is the 3, 5, R wave plate (GM paid 1/2), 1 windshield, a new battery, alternator and wiper linkage. If it wasn't a discontinued Saturn, I would probably keep it another 5 years!
Ohh, ohh, what Saturn? My 2004 Vue made it 20 years and happy to find another versatile vehicle to purchase. I did nearly nothing to the Vue, it was amazing until I found some rather serious frame rot near front two tires. Replace a wheel bearing, front control arm bushing, AC compressor. Otherwise it's been 178,000 miles and just oil/ trans/ brakes + 100,000 maintenance.

I'm honestly thinking about coughing up the $3000 to have a welder fix the frame to keep it.

After frame fix I'd drive it across the country. Hope the new Mav turns out the same.

For my 2023, was skipping remote start as I figured the Ford Pass would be sufficient. Then I observed that the 3G phase out killed remote start on those vehicles. Plus manufactures started charging for some features, which may mean Ford does that in the future. I added remote start to my order a few months ago.

My Vue is a 2008 - the first year of the Opel Antara version. I got used to the 3.6L engine especially when my company was subsidizing my gas costs. The last time I peaked under it while it was on the hoists there was very little rust 🤞🏻!

I have this kit on my 2023 XLT hybrid. The hardest part is contorting yourself under the dash. It comes with a T-harness and it's literally plug and play. It took like 5 minutes to install. After installation, just click lock-unlock-lock on your keyfob. The park lights will flash after a few seconds and your truck will start. I highly recommend it!

Get a used Subframe and replace it. Did that on a Jaguar XJ6 once. Paid $200 for the car, $250 for the subframe and $400 labor (1995) Drove it for 6 months, then sold it for $4,500.

Easily my favorite feature with the Ford Pass remote start. I got my truck automatically ready every morning, for lunch time and right after work without me doing anything

You are right, hardest part was getting the t-harness plugged back into the obd port.. Programming was a snap and it works great.. Thanks for your help..

Get it on the key fob. It still works after you get the app shutdown to preserve battery. Well worth it.

Thank you for your advice - if just a tad tardy. I did in fact revised my order and add the remote start. 11 months later I took delivery of my truck. Fast forward to today and the Ford app is absolutely useless and only works when my truck is running (using the app to lock/unlock and remote start are a bit unnecessary once its running).

So, in hindsight your advice is/was the right thing to do!?
