Anybody find the textured interior scratches easily? Rear passenger door, textured surface scratched down to a smoother under surface. Only 2500km on it. Only the kids and their backpacks using the rear seat so far. Not sure how this happened so easily.

I don't think the plastic panels scratch any easier than any other car I've had, Ford or not. It's just a factor of plastic not having any give. Better plastic than vinyl. Vinyl would have a much more noticeable tear in it.

This shouldn’t happen so easily. I can see some fine scratches on the passenger door. I have no idea what to do. You can be careful, but others coming in the truck might not be as careful.

I have been in many rental cars with 30000 miles and see very few scratches in the inside.

Mine does scratch easily. Matte Finish Armor All Protectant helps a lot against minor scratches and glancing blows. Also seems to make the surface less soft and grabby/gougy. The matte finish can be a lot harder to find in stores. And Amazon availability can be spotty. I stock up on it when I find it.

The interior plastics on the Maverick are absolute trash and Ford should be ashamed of shipping the truck with them.

Have said this before, but the fact that my 2002 Honda Accord doesn't have any issues with interior plastics is simply pointing to how poor much of the materials on this thing are.

Yes they scratch super easy - one of my first complaints. My wife's Hyundai and my Honda had way more durable plastic material.

This is one of the major complaints I see in the forum and I totally agree.

It is a textured plastic it can’t be buffed lol. I dig the look but somehow they created a terrible dash product in terms of material. Thankfully this does not grind my gears personally to have a pristine vehicle but it’s still noticeable and a negative comparison to other economy cars.

It's a two-factor issue, softer plastics, and no padding, other cars have soft padding on areas where we would usually bump or touch.

Edit: I just tried to scratch my 2020 Camry's interior and was not able to as easily, so they are definitely using softer plastics.

Is there a DIY remedy for this? Some type of coating to put on the plastic interior?

Do you know if the Armor All matte wipes are just as good as getting it in a bottle?

This pro detailer talks about exterior/interior plastics on a new Bronco, heck it may have more plastic than the Maverick.... Anyways, he mentions a ceramic detail spray on interior. No idea how well it would prevent scratches, especially major ones. May not be very much hope if the plastic is as soft as some have mentioned. Mine hasn't been scheduled yet, may be next year who knows so I haven't experienced the issue yet

Yes, Ford gave us all cheap :poop: but also gave us a 4 door truck with fantastic MPG at 20K. If you got a Lariat do you thing it's basic design is any better built, I think not.

If the drive train/electronics lasts. That's all I need. Yes there will be scratches in my cheap plastic interior eventually. I'm ok with that as I do the best I can to take care of my :poop:
