My XLT will be here soon.

Noticed some scratches on the interior of the xl, just from the kids getting in and out with their backpacks. I have been religiously coating it with meguiars, but does not seem to help.

Is there an interior ceramic solution for when I get my XLT?

Nothing short of a protection film is going to keep the interior from scratching
I’m surprised how easy it is to scratch honestly

Yes it's quite bad. But there's got to be some way to add a protective coating to it.

It's plastic...Seems to scratch just like all the other plastic I have ever had in any car I have owned, but I have never owned luxury plastic so I might not know what I am missing.

Where are you noticing most of the scratching? (as in which parts or pieces of plastic in particular)

The barebones Frontier XE like I have is a sea of hard plastic in the interior.. Mine is a 2006 and I appear to have allot less scratching than some of your Mavericks. Maybe its a plastic with allot of recycled content?

Without a doubt the Maverick is worse than most cars. There are other threads about it.

Mostly the glove compartment and the kick plates where feet go.

In response to the Meguires solution....I have heard that there are better protection solutions. There are several YouTube vids on the different kinds. My Maverick is finally scheduled for production next week, so I'm NOT speaking from experience, BUT I have already ordered the door jamb protectors and am going to add some type of protection to the vinyl panels. I'll report my findings, if I ever receive my Mav.

Wow…. Why in the cow crap is this being discussed my maverick is a truck a Truck. I wear Harley Davidson kick as boots in my truck and I’m very proud when I see all the black marks, scratches from the boots. When people sit in my truck I don’t hear “Oh my God look at all those black marks from your boots “ no one cares. Maybe you all should wear those soft Simpson booties that my 6 year old wears around the house. Lol 😂

In my opinion, and I've had some cheap cars and some mid range cars, our Maverick interior plastic is the worst I have ever seen. Graze it with a fingernail and you've got yourself a scratch. Also collects dust/dirt like no other, especially the rear kick plates and the back of the center console. I find myself cleaning it constantly. If I don't it just looks BAD. I'm not a neat freak either, it's just that bad. Glad they used recycled materials but I don't think they did much testing for longevity/durability. Also remember that this is the cheapest vehicle Ford sells, and I never drove a Fiesta or Escort so I can't compare the quality to now. However, my 91 Camry's interior looked brand new in 2006 when it died. Also just got rid of our 14 Highlander that the kids had beaten half to death. The interior plastics were still pristine, but the seat fabric took the bulk of the punishment.

It is a crying shame. You look at the Maverick interior plastic trim cross eyed and scuffs and scratches appear. Ford did not really think this through. Probable the book smart Kellogg MBA made the decision on the interior trim choices.

It is just a very soft recycled material. I wonder if they will continue to use it on future Maverick models. I guess I've been spoiled is the past with my cars and trucks. The plastic interior of My 2015 Jeep Wrangler still looks flawless after 8 years.
