What do you think of the fourth post down on this Link:
https://www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=Ford maverick hybrid transmission fluid change

"Transmission fluid underfill issue explained:
I posted on this group some time ago about fluid change and finding there's missing around 1.5 quart of fluid. I think I figured that out." continued....

It's best to view the actual FB post to see the included transmission diagram.
This could explain why Ford Dealers always (from my understanding) Flush these transmissions vs Drain/Fill.

Does the Hybrid Service Manual have the same note that the EB-8-speed does, about checking the level with the engine running?

For those of us who don’t use Facebook (me) - what does the 4th comment say? In a nutshell?

Also, how does it relate to flush vs drain&fill?

I wouldn't be surprised if it did say that the engine has to be running. For example, newer Toyotas with transverse 8-speed autos have what is basically an upside down dipstick that is part of the transmission drain plug.

If I recall correctly, the process is something like, remove drain plug, then remove the dipstick and let the fluid drain. Put the dipstick back in, then the drain plug, then fill the transmission. Start the engine, and with the engine idling, remove the drain plug and let the excess fluid drain out. As soon as it slows to a drip, put the drain plug back in and you're done.

Are there any Ford Service Techs in the audience who can chime in on this?
Is there a Ford Authorized procedure for Flushing the Maverick Hybrid transmission?

And as @Hot Runr Guy asked - "Does the Hybrid Service Manual have the same note that the EB-8-speed does, about checking the level with the engine running?"

It's been posted before - it is NOT the same procedure.
Does not have to be at operating temp.
Like turn on for 1 min. Check level.
You can't run thru gears, so....

Actually - the EB is not just running - it is supposed to be within specific temp range.

So almost the same except now you can be up to 20 mm lower than the hole.

Or at the hole.

Ya - I'm fiddling around with an allen key hoping I'm holding it level to an imaginary line!
Ya right - it's pouring out to confirm it's enough.
