Seems like driving with no brake lights (recall 24S27) is more of a hazard to vehicle occupants than putting it off til later. Once ya get rear ended at a traffic light, you'll probably realize doing the recall was a wiser decision. I had mine done asap, no issues. I told dealer that was all I wanted done, don't mess with anything else.
HoiToid makes a good point, maybe I'll just have them do the brake light recall only.

I had them, the airbag, and an oil change done by a mobil tech right before Memorial Day. Everything went great but I did lose the automatic hill descent after the update (the little green icon that appeared when your speed was held constant going down a slope.)

they are safety recalls and you don't really have a choice in getting them done. the dealer will do them if you take it there for service.

You can't have software products that are almost right. Unlike an engine or a differential, the smallest fault in some weird corner-case will undoubtedly cause catastrophic failure of the product when you hit that edge case. That's just the nature of software products. There are ways of designing more fault-tolerant products, but I don't think that the guys that they hire to do software got the memo or went to their software engineering classes. The Ford software teams are rank amateurs, resulting in lots of recalls to update their alpha-quality products. You need to get all the recalls done simply because what you have now is something that should never have made it into production, and its at least partially fixed then. It will never be fault-free due to its complexity issues, but it will be better. And if you think that all the other vehicle manufacturers are any better, just start looking...

That's not a correct description of that recall - which specifically states "This issue does NOT affect the stop lamps including the center mount stop lamp or turn signal lamps".

Since the BCM may falsely detect a current overload on a taillamp circuit (think DRL), it should throw a code if it occurs - which will be reset on next key cycle.

I've yet to get a code, and on several checks after a long drive - lights are still on and fine.

But it is broke...you don't think Ford spends the money to fix things that work correctly, do you?
It may not be broke for each individual.
The net is thrown wide to catch as many as possible that may have a current or future issue, even if no current issue.

I had the first 2 on your list done today and I even got a free truck wash out of it. So far no problems.

I had mine done on my 2024 hybrid this afternoon. Scheduled with dealer's mobile service and they came to my job and updated in the parking lot. It took less than 1/2 hour. Drove it about this evening and everything is A-OK.

I’m had all 3 done a week ago. No issues so to speak. I did notice yesterday that power flow is now a black screen. Not sure if it’s related to the service. A reboot of the stereo didn’t fix it.

The BCM update did flash all my FORScan changes but I’ve added them all back in. Took about 5 minutes.

Actually what happens is the BCM detects what it thinks is an overcurrent and disables the taillights on that side. There are no fuses; the BCM acts as overcurrent protection.

My 2023 Maverick Hybrid XL has three recalls open:
#24S27 BODY CONTROL MODULE BCM SOFTWARE UPDATE
#24C01 INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER IPC ILLUMINATION
#23C41 TURN SIGNAL OUTAGE DETECTION FAILURE

I've held off on getting them done because of the isolated stories I've heard of hybrid failures after recall work was performed.

What do people think, should I keep holding off or just go ahead and get them done? Thoughts appreciated.
I’ve done everyone with no issues now Ford will come to your house and do it on the spot. I just learned that today.
