My 2023 Maverick Hybrid XL has three recalls open:
#24S27 BODY CONTROL MODULE BCM SOFTWARE UPDATE
#24C01 INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER IPC ILLUMINATION
#23C41 TURN SIGNAL OUTAGE DETECTION FAILURE

I've held off on getting them done because of the isolated stories I've heard of hybrid failures after recall work was performed.

What do people think, should I keep holding off or just go ahead and get them done? Thoughts appreciated.

I had mine done, and it went perfectly. In fact, I'm getting about 3mpg better than I was. Was getting around 45 mpg, but now I'm getting around 48 mpg.

Not sure if it was all due to the upgrades. The weather turned warm right around the time I had the recalls done which helps with the mileage.

Regardless, I haven't had any negative effects from the recalls/upgrades.

I got all of mine done soon as I got the letters in the mail. No issues here.

There was a major hiccup in one of the recalls mid-march that Ford got on it really hard and fast. By Early April the hiccup was addressed and the amount of trucks loosing power and dying has dropped. You should be fine. I got the recall done. No issues.

As someone who experienced two issues due to recalls last March I can say there have been 2 software recalls since that might address that particular issue. The most recent only came out in the last week and I literally just finished the appointment to get it. Since no one can reproduce the issues at will no one can guarantee these recalls fully work. Since I experienced the issue 6 weeks apart I minimally need 6 weeks after the recall update to have any feeling of certainty about the update. But having 2 recalls out since this all started happening puts you in a better place than where I was months ago when Ford was shrugging it off. So your odds are better but my confidence in Ford recall updates has been shaken so I won't vote one way or the other.

You guys are braver than me

I’m waiting at least until after summer for all this stuff to flush out. I figure by then they’ll be another recall too, resetting the clock again lol.

How are you concluding that Ford was hard and fast to fix the issue? The issue was not addressed at all in the month of April. I know because the issue happened to me April 3, and Ford was entirely non-responsive and playing dumb about the issue until 6 weeks later when it happened to me a second time in May. It wasn't until early May Ford publicly acknowledged the problem and proposed a recall to address the issue, and even then local mechanics were crossing their fingers that it would work. I literally just finished an appointment for a second PCM update clearly pointing out that the May PCM recall was not sufficient. So here I am 3 months after the first software issue was introduced and I am still hoping Ford finally figured it out.

I've seen no evidence of a hard or fast response to this problem.

I've gotten done only because my dealer called me and offered to send out their Mobile service truck to perform them in the parking lot at my office.

I didn't consider any of them important enough to drive to the dealer to have them done.

As usual, when someone types something, there is always a different answer. I am sorry for your demise. But if you would please go to the pages and threads of what was going on at that time and see the repsonses, you would see why I came to that conclusion. It was based on hundreds of threads from all across the country. If this is a wrong assumption, then hundreds of others are wrong as well. Again, I am sorry for your situation and did not mean do dispute what has happen to you.

I will get them done…someday 😂😂😂
Let 50% of the people go through the pain while Ford fixes the recalls along the way - some of these are already in a smaller version up.

As I understand it the issue was corrected and it is fine to go ahead with them. We are getting ready to take ours in for the outstanding recalls.
