Luxury of hybrid is even a degraded battery just means your engine will run longer and more often.

It seems like a lot of people are concerned about replacement cost of the hybrid battery. I'd like to hear from actual owners of previous hybrid vehicles: did you have to replace the battery on your vehicle?

If you did, please reply to this thread below with the mileage and cost.

Thank you!
It's under warranty for eight years or 100K miles. Relax, man.

I actually posted this in response to another thread where this topic was brought up. I believe *knock on wood* that this is not going to beat problem.
I've seen this a lot around here.... Seems to be battery anxiety.

🤷‍♂️ I bet batteries are a lot cheaper when it's time to replace...I should say, if it's time to replace. Do you actually know of any hybrid owners that have had to replace batteries?

I was a Toyota tech for 10 years, now on the Lexus parts side. I saw Prius hybrid batteries fail at 30k and I saw them go 300k+. 30k failure was under warranty obviously. There's no need to worry yourself about it with the warranty Ford has on the hybrid components.

For information purposes, the hybrid battery in the Lexus CT200h which is basically a Prius and my current daily, runs $2600. Labor time I believe is somewhere in the neighborhood of 3.5 hours. So even with a labor rate of $200/hr, you're under $3500 for the replacement

I definitely think you should sell the Maverick and buy an F350 4X4, 7.3L. No more battery worries. 🙂
Win Win Win 🙃

Battery in my Volt is 10 years old and today reads 39 miles range. Quoted range new was 38…. I get as good as 45-ish miles around town in warm weather.

We still have a 2013 Prius C bought new with 110k miles and no issues with anything on the car never mind the hybrid battery.

The batteries are warranted for 150,000 miles. I would not worry about having to replace them. I have owned 2 previous hybrids and have never had to replace any batteries. If you are really concerned then get an extended warrantee when the mfg warranty expires.

I had a 2012 Hyundai Sonata hybrid - their first generation. Traded it in with over 190k on it. The battery was fine. But it was Hyundai's hybrid transmission that was dying (they used a traditional 6 speed transmission mated to the electric motor, not a CVT).

2013-early 2014 Fusion/C-Max had a flaw with bearings in the CVT that had a high rate of failure.

2008 Prius, bought with 55,000 miles, sold with maybe 130,000 miles, never replaced the battery.
Wife currently has 2017 Prius V, bought new, it's at 78,000 miles, no problems at all except replacing tires. She has a heavy foot and gets 43 mpg.
By the way, she thinks the Maverick is WAYYYYY better than the Prius. Loves the low cabin noise, comfort.
