The batteries are warranted for 150,000 miles. I would not worry about having to replace them. I have owned 2 previous hybrids and have never had to replace any batteries. If you are really concerned then get an extended warrantee when the mfg warranty expires.

I got the call from my dealership yesterday that my FE Maverick has arrived at the dealership and will be available for pick up within 24 hours! I cannot wait to head over to the dealership and pick up my new Mav, hopefully, tomorrow.
