Most drivers will trade-in / trade up or crash / total their hybrid long before the HV battery becomes a problem.
Don't get me wrong, it starts degrading from day one, and more rapidly in extreme climates. But there is so
much "buffer" built in as part of the lifecycle strategy, it's not going to come
up in 1 driver out of 10,000.
Could you be the one? Maybe.
But those are some damn good odds it won't be you.
