Do not mind it, but mine hardly ever works because I do not drive allot so the battery never has enough charge to activate it. When I do drive long enough to get the battery to full charge it is nice when I hit one of those only one direction at a time road construction projects.

That shi* is a safety hazard. Had to gun it a couple times to turn left somewhere and had no idea the truck was stopped, almost got in a wreck because of the delay.

Thank the Russian God for Forscan to disable that crap.
My other vehicle is a '21 Subaru Forester, and I absolutely hate the auto stop-start on it. It usually stops the engine just as the light is turning green, so it's off for only a second or two. Then it takes a bit to get going again, and by that time I'm already hitting the accelerator since I'm quick from the brake to the gas, and there's a noticeable delay to me between when I hit the gas and when the car actually starts moving.

I've always wondered does it save that much gas in regular driving conditions like just normal stop light in a smaller town? I'm sure it helps in heavy city traffic obviously. I also wonder if all the constant restarting bad for the battery, starter, spark plugs etc? I feel like when I get my truck I'll probably turn it off most days. Do you guys use the auto start stop or do you turn yours off?
Jason of Engineering Explained on Youtube has done a few videos on the subject...

It seems it actually does save a significant amout of fuel.
Personally I hate it just because of the annoying nature of it.
Buy an Auto Start-Stop Eliminator and be done with it.

I hate the auto shut off and the bad things associated with its use outweigh the good. My mechanic hates it too.
Sounds like more "green" feel good malarky.

I just hit the off button when I start it. Don't even think about it.
Can't imagine the whining here if you guys had to drive a standard and had to push the clutch in every time you stopped.

My Maverick is the only thing I have without a clutch. A Miata and a bike. Guess I'm a weirdo. Or, the only normal one out there. (?)
I find the eCVT pretty damn clever and love the concept.

Hate it!
First thing my wife does after starting her 19 Escape is turn it off.
Same with my F-150.
No way any minuscule savings are worth it to us.

10.9% improvement in city fuel economy. That’s not a bad ROI and explains why it is mandatory. I mean, automakers don’t add expensive emissions / fuel economy features unless they are forced to. In general, I let mine do its thing in the default setting. But if it is super hot, I’m towing or I’m off-road, I disable it.

I love the idea of auto start-stop. It saves fuel, reduces emissions, and ultimately keeps gas vehicles on the road longer.

With my Maverick, though, the engine sometimes shuts off even when I'm at a stop sign, or kicks back on after a few seconds at a stop light. I use one of the eliminator pigtails, and only turn it on with auto brake hold when I'm in a drive through or at long traffic lights.

Disabled on every vehicle I get.

I'd be fine with it if they actually gave you the option to have the vehicle remember your choice.
