I use the modes primarily as a way to manage the level of regenerative braking.

In stop and go traffic, eco mode.
On the interstate where I want to coast the most, I use slippery mode.

Well OF COURSE the brake lights are NOT on....unless you have your foot on the brake.....:rolleyes::rolleyes:
Of course they don't....... True on the mav but not true on most EV and some hybrids the brake lights do in fact come on even though you don't touch the brake pedal. There is a .13 G being discussed by NHTS and this will eventually be law but not yet so far. Several of the hybrids Kia sells do this. teslas do. some Honda's do

BUT as I said have a tailgater don't allow a lot of regen braking in eco mode. You might get hit. Especially if you hit the L button . Gets close at .11 G

Not sure why the emoji's

The emojis are for because this is a Maverick in a Maverick forum. That’s why…. I wasn’t talking about anything else. 😎

Can I get the eco mode on my Ecoboost AWD ? I would like the extra MPG. After all, ECO is part of it's name but it kinda needs a little MPG boost lol.

There is no way to lock it in eco mode, other than using an add-on device like https://www.mymavmode.com/
or maybe FORScan.🤷🏻‍♂️
Your Maverick will always default to regular mode which is what it was EPA certified with.
How does this my mav mode device compare with pedal commander? Does pedal commander also allow the car default to eco mode?

I don’t know how the eCVT simulates gear changes. But ECO Mode is gentler on the eCVT than SPORT Mode I would think.

The Atkinson engine, however, is susceptible to “lugging” when in ECO Mode. Lugging the engine is not healthy.

If you’re going to drive in ECO Mode continuously - maybe splurge occasionally on a Normal Mode Italian Tuneup?
All the Modes are designed to last beyond the warranty period.

Every Mode affects long term performance differently. Especially if left exclusively in a given Mode. Setting a default at “Normal” - and having the owner make a conscious choice by pushing a Mode button is not a bad design. “But I don’t want to push a button!!”. Oh well, can’t please everyone.
Dude.

Hi all, I'm new to the forum and to the Wonderful World of Mavericks.
I just bought a "new" 2025 XLT Hybrid AWD.
Noob question on Eco mode: Does it actually make the engine work more efficiently, or is it just a way to encourage you to drive without a "lead foot."
Thanks
I find ECO mode has a lighter throttle response (moves a bit slower when pressing on the accelerator pedal) and makes the truck slow faster when taking your foot off the accelerator; it gives greater electric power regeneration back to the hybrid battery when coasting or braking. The ECO mode likely allows greater automatic computer-controlled all-electric power use (delayed gas engine assist) during low-speed city driving, thereby saving gas and improving overall MPG.

Seems you can’t handle the truth. Worse yet, you can’t even recognize the truth. Give it some thought.

The ECO mode likely allows greater All Electric power use during low-speed city driving, thus saving gas for greater MPG overall.
The 2 things you stated are it - both of which can be duplicated in Normal mode.

It doesn't allow greater EV use - still maxed out at 10% power limit. (except startup in full charge)
Eco may cause a driver to not accidentally go over the limit when they are towing the line.
But I can toe that line pretty good in Normal mode - well, except some bumps causing too much on Go pedal.
