UPDATE: I just bought a ruby red 2025 Lariat with 2,300 miles on it. I pick it up Tuesday and drop off my trade-in at the same time. I really like the convenience and lack of salesmen B.S. with Carvana. Hopefully I'll be one of their many satisfied customers and not one of the haters when it's all over.

Lots of lurking had helped me (almost) decide to order a 2027 XLT FX4 with 4k tow, copilot360, and the luxury package. Then I stumbled on a 2024 Lariat FX4 with 4k tow and copilot360 assist. This would get me ACC which I use a lot in my current vehicle. Mileage is below 8k and the price is a few thousand less than a 2027 XLT.

I'd really appreciate any advice, opinions, etc.

I'm currently on my 2nd 2024 Lariat (this one's a Tremor) and am struggling with ordering a 2027. I'm not a huge fan of the new display and the integrated controls, vs the physical buttons of my '24. One item of note is that the 2024 FX4 would not have the upgraded halfshafts that the 2027 would, plus you could get a hard-wired keyless entry keypad on the '27.

Also, I'm a big fan of the Active-X seats, they are very easy to keep clean. With the large price drop on the '27 Tremor, have you run the numbers for comparison to the '27 XLT? Or do you need the 4K package?

Thank you HRG! You've given me food for thought. I'll research the upgraded halfshafts to see if that's a deal killer. I definitely need the 4k tow package, so a Tremor won't work for me.

I had a 2023 Tremor and have a 2025 Lariat Hybrid. To me the refresh and new is the way to go but it’s a choice that is personal.

You get a Maverick either way so it’s a win.

For a few thousand I would think even though the 27 will take more of a hit the first 2 years in resale it still will be a higher resale down the road.

Next the 27 would come with a new warranty including after the 3 year 36000 mile with a 5 yr 60000 power train warranty

Also besides the cloth seat letting your backside breath and a heck of a lot cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter wins my vote.

Lastly the 24 does not come with hitch assist or backup assist. I have a 24 XLT FX4 4k tow. Yes the knobs are nice but having a full infotainment screen, no nook, and going from 3 to sync 4 is well worth the investment. So I imagine I would gladly get use to not having knobs. Again that's just me.

Lastly in 24 when I ordered they offered an upgrade on tires going from 225 to 235 both giving a more aggressive tread and a higher ground clearance on the FX4. You might want to see. Back then instead of perrolli and black out rims it came with different rims but Wildpeak 3.

In the end I would go with the 27 for the reasons I listed. Just like needing 4k tow, I need cloth seats for that reason alone I would buy the 27 the other reasons are icing on the cake.

Dual port fuel injection swayed my decision from 24 to 26. I truly miss my HVAC knobs though 😔.

A brand new car is always better than a used one
My 0.02C

But you should shop around for a 2025 leftover.
Back un June 2025 I got my brand new 2024 Lariat Tremor with only 17 miles. Brand new, first owner, bargain price

Or wait until 2027 and get a 2026.

I think it might depend on other personal taste and niceties also; Ford de-contented the auto up/down on all windows even on the current Lariats and I don't know that the '27 XLT Lux has the rear seat armrest/cupholder. Lots of little nuances if the better EB with dual injection and GPF doesn't already matter to you. Down the road as a keeper, I think I'd get the '27. Get the better tech, towing goodies etc, and any Ford running fixes, you will get used to fewer buttons, no ACC and other things you don't get. Just my thoughts.....

Bought a 24 lariat eb/fx4/4k/mooon roof in March. Had 5567 mile when drove it off the lot. It was at a dealership about 6 hrs away. The new price was over $40k. (Found window sticker in glove box) agreed to a price that was about 80% of sticker. It was a little higher than I wanted.but I had been looking for 6 months and burning 50 to 45 gallons a week in diesel. When I got there to pick it up I found it truly looked brand new inside and out. Had wild peak at3s, real truck black hard trifold tonneau cover, ford cargo management, heavy rubber bed mat (and factory spray in liner) over $2k in adds and accessories. So for me a much better deal than a new one. I'm a contractor and so at minimum I would have had to immediately get a tonneau cover or cap if it didn't have one. Side not have put over 20k miles on it.hand calculated lifetime mpg since I got it, 27.5

Thank you folks for your input! I'm working on researching the points brought up in this discussion. Here's what I have so far based on the interwebs.

* The upgraded half shafts are exclusive to the Tremor trim, so this doesn't affect my decision. Unfortunately, the Tremor won't work for me because 4k tow is a must-have.

* The Pro Trailer Backup Assist isn't available on the 2027 XLT. I'd have to step up to a 2027 Lariat which is out of my price range.

* The dual port fuel injection is definitely a reason to favor the 2027; especially since I do a lot of short trips and city driving.

So, the main reason I'm considering the 2024 Lariat over a 2027 XLT is advanced cruise control. I use it almost every time I drive. It's probably not worth giving up the pros of the 2027 XLT.

A lot of comments here and elsewhere curse Ford for not offering it as an option on the XLT. I've read that some folks have modified XLTs using Lariat parts to get ACC, but that's not something I'd l
ikely try.
