This ordering might be faster than finding a new vehicle on a lot. Around here you can’t hardly find a new vehicle on a lot, makes no difference to make. Dealers have no new vehicles on the showroom floor.

So, I was all excited about ordering a Maverick and then.... I found this forum. I've perused several threads and it seems like lots of issues with the build and delivery process. That seems to be more of the rule than exception. I am trying to figure out what I can reasonable expect, if I order an XL with a spray in bedliner and perhaps a sunroof. Are we talking around 6 months?

I am a June order for Hybrid XLT… since there is no builds being scheduled this week, It is safe to say I will be hoping for a January build. Add 6 weeks for shipping and dealer prep, I will probably be looking somewhere between a green beer to an Easter egg. (9/10 months since order) I have seen my identical build minus the moon roof scheduled for production in November and December

I ordered my "First Run" edition hybrid on September 7th. I received confirmation of my order within a week and had the dealer tell me to expect my truck by mid-october. It is now November and no build date. Went back to the dealer and confirmed that I am still in the cue. No letter about the free plastic crap accessories either. Figure the truck will show up about the time Dodge comes out with a mini-ram hybrid to pre-order...

There's a somewhat intricate algorithm that is based on dealer allocation and their priority assignment for your vehicle and subsequent Ford build selection based on that data from the Dealer, this isn't just a first in first out build process. Same orders put in at different dealers at widely different dates can easily result in the later dated order being built ahead of the earlier dated one. It's also possible that there are sub-pools that Ford uses in the process - they might decide to increase production throughput by running only pure base models (0 options) for X amount of time to produce more vehicles in a shorter amount of time or alternately they might decide to produce higher priced more option vehicles for Y amount of time to realize the increased profit margin on those. If I had to guess...I'd say the more options you ordered the longer the wait time.

if you want something fast you will have to be willing to comprimise , i wanted a xlt hybd lq pkq , ran onto awd xlt with tow and 360 at retail so the wait is over , not what i had in mind but am very happy with it.

My dad put in an order on Saturday 11/6 for three hybrids for his employees, so some dealers are still taking orders for them.

No vehicle launch goes without hiccups especially in these days with Covid-19, chip and commodity shortages along with Ford having to wait for official hybrid EPA figures before they could start with there build and delivery. Don’t give second thought to what people are saying because there will be plenty who whine, gripe and cry about not having their Maverick. Patience is the name of game, my wife and I shared a vehicle for almost 5 months before my Maverick came in and trust me that wasn’t easy and we special and travel trailer 13 months ago and still waiting. Not everyone has patience to wait these things out, I advise to you hope in the face of uncertainty, you know you that’s what matters not what is being said on the internet. WAIT LONG AND PROSPER

Ford wants to make building to order a larger part of its business, and reduce the number of stock units dealers carry. Their goal is 25% of sales being build to order

I ordered an XLT Lux FX4 on June 14 and it arrived on October 19. Loved the way it drove and was impressed with roominess, build quality and more, but decided to pass because my new 16YO driver fell in love with the Ranger Tremor, primarily because it is so much taller. Haven't bought it either. I probably should have bought the Maverick while waiting on a different build to arrive but I didn't. If I order another now, who knows how long I will wait. New Ranger will be revealed on 11/24, so buying a new '21 Ranger is a sure way to lose my ass in depreciation.

Assuming you are ordering an ecoboost XL your order should go thru within a few months. Adding the sunroof might delay slightly but its not known as one of the major delay items.

The spray in bedliner on the other hand, thats a delay for sure.

They originally had it attached to both luxury packages, perhaps not realizing that there would be a large number of those ordered, especially the XLT lux package from what I have read.

The 6-8 months is for hybrid orders (like mine)

I would think it could be higher. My local lot has very low inventory right now. Even F-150s which used to be door-to-door parked on the lot are in short supply.

I'm pretty sure that changing your order doesn't start the wait over again, though I haven't personally done that. Maybe someone that has can confirm?
