I received my email from Ford today. I emailed my sales rep and he said I can change my model trim after the rush is over on ordering.

I am glad to hear it. I know they would never intentionally "ghost" someone who needed to be rolled over from 23 to 24. They are definitely not infallible and have admitted to making mistakes and oversights in the past. It is bound to happen with such a high volume dealership. Glad to hear this was not another one of those rare occasions where they had to rush to do damage control.

Tim said they got all 400 orders entered in 26 hours. But to get them in they entered 2023 data and may have dropped constrained items. He said sales associates will be calling to confirm exactly what your order should have to make the changes and to start the COVP process.

It’s 5:00pm central time and I have not received a call from them to convert my 2023 to 2024. This whole process has been nothing but a headache to try to buy a hybrid Maverick the last two years. With LM still having 500 unscheduled 2023 orders, the chances of my 2024 hybrid order getting allocated and built is slim.
Your salesperson has probably called to confirm you want to carryover your order to 2024. We put in 400 orders in 24 hours. If you are unsure who your salesperson is then PM me.

I'm still waiting for them to send over the paper work to sign. They said they would submit the order today and then send the document over for me to sign. Must be busy.
Did you ever get called?

haven't gotten the paper work but I got an email from Ford confirming the rollover for MY24. They called me last week to confirm if i wanted to rollover. They also sent a follow up email to get a 'yes' from me last week.

I can see this as true on a small scale but not to the extent reported here. No one knows allocations better than the very business men who live or die by them, way better than us. To solely blame Ford for the scope of this shortfall stretches the imagination a bit too far. I don't buy the dealer hand wringing saying Ford didn't tell us, not to this extent. I'm fully aware of what Tim has said but in the end they took 100% more orders than were available.
In the end I'm thinking about the 500 costumers that ordered in full faith of getting a Maverick only to be disappointed. Some may say that more people got Mavericks because of LM but on the flip side an equal number somewhere else did not. There was always only so many available in the end, and Ford was clear on what percentage would be hybrids vs eco.
Fossil, Long McArthur took nearly 785 orders for the 2023 Maverick because Ford gave them over 400 allocations for the 2022 Maverick. When Long McArthur was placing the new 2023 orders last year, when should they have stopped - at 400, 450, or 475... Maybe 500. What should the cut off have been, in your opinion? Sure Ford only gave them around 220 allocations for this year, but Long McArthur didn't anticipate that. Should they have stopped at 300 orders, under shooting what Ford had allocated the previous year.

Based on the allocation formula that Ford had released just prior to the order banks opening for 2023 in September of last year, the amount of orders accepted was probably within reason for Long McArthur. Tim had covered this allocation formula on his Tuesday Night Youtube live just before the order banks opened in Sept 2022. What business doesn't have goals to achieve better sales volume then the previous year. If Long McArthur had stopped taking orders at 220, that would have been very short sighted and a stupid move, had Ford followed the released allocation formula given to dealers.

Also, if Long McArthur had not accepted the orders - most of which were last minute, final day orders - whose to say those orders would have gotten turned in, built and delivered from other dealers around the country. If Ford couldn't make enough vehicles to fulfill the order volume that Long McArthur placed, why would those same orders have gotten fulfilled at other dealerships?

By accepting those orders, individuals now have a potential private offer from Ford to offset - at some value - the cost increase for a 2024 Maverick. If those orders never would have been accepted by Ford from Long McArthur, or any other dealer, then the cost increase burden would be on the individual placing a new 2024 Maverick order - by thousands of dollars it appears. At least those unfulfilled 2023 Maverick orders have that to help purchase a new 2024.

Disclaimer - I have a fulfilled 2023 Maverick order from Long McArthur waiting to be picked up by me. Going for the Maverick Meetup in August to pick it up. So I'm glad they didn't stop at 220 orders last year. Will update my forum details when I actually have the vehicle in my driveway. At present, I'm still "NoMavJoe".

Well, all I can is if they had 500 rollover orders, that's gonna take a while. I would imagine as detailed as Tim is, their starting at the oldest unscheduled MY23 order and working their way down. There's X number of them and X number of hours to work, their human, gotta sleep sometime. That's a tremendous task
Well I pre ordered mine last year, so that would be day one of 2023, right? I got an email from Ford that my 2024 order is in the order bank, but I have only been in text contact with my sales guy @ LM Ford

In listening to LM's live stream I think I heard Tim say they were not placing any new 24 orders due to the backlog from previous year rollovers.
