To get back to the original question, I think you can change the color up until it is in the booth. It just depends on whether your dealer wants to fool with it.

You have a production date and want to jeopardize it by making changes now? Best case scenario: The production date doesn't change even with the change in color. You get your truck in a few months. Every time you walk out to it, you will remind yourself that this wasn't the color you wanted. Worst case scenario: Your production date gets pushed back. What if it takes a year or longer instead of a few months? Every time you walk out to your current vehicle, you will remind yourself that you could have been driving your new truck... in the color that you wanted.

OK. I told my GF about my order (XL Hybrid Atlas Blue, no options). She doesn’t think we need a truck. She wants me to change my order to Area 51. It may make the difference between her allowing me to get the truck or not. I have a scheduled production date of 12/19. Take the chance to tell the dealer I want to change the color? What impact do you think this would make on production happening? I don’t really need another vehicle, but I want a little truck.
It may be a mute point.

The dealership has to do several manipulations of the order to get anything changed after the schedule has been set. Most don’t even know how and will likely just tell you they can’t change it.

If your Window Sticker has been created I don’t think they can make a change even they wanted to.

Sorry sweetheart, it’s too late. Atlas -Blue it is. 😊

I tried to change my color and was in priority 2 (not scheduled) and was not able to change the color. They were afraid I would get punted back to priority 10 or higher if they tried that change.

Maybe she knows that, and if you make the change you will be punted to 2024.

Number one. Get a color you can live with! You will have to drive it for years. Number two. I change for the Orange(really school bus yellow) to the velocity blue in November of last year and it didn't change when I received my truck(got it at the end of March). As long as it happens before you get scheduled for production. Make sure you get a color you like! I have the Lariat Lux hybrid and loving it. The dealers have no clue what will happen when you make small changes to an order. It's a guessing game and color change is an easy change.

Your best idea was to look for advice on a truck forum after mentioning your girlfriend won’t give you permission to get a truck. That was obviously going to go over well.

Personally I’m just wondering how you got this far into the ordering process before this discussion happened. You didn’t run the colour by her when you ordered it?
