I finished mine last weekend. Same setup. That Puzu amp makes such a difference. When I first customized it I had no idea how to customize a DSP and it was terrible. I watched a couple videos and readjusted pretty much the opposite of what I did the first time and it’s pretty outstanding. I will still add the Rockville in the spring. One thing I have noticed that is frustrating is the variances of volume output depending on the input. It kind of forces you to set levels higher than needed. For instance on a usb stick the Puzu can clip or bottom out the speakers on some songs at 16 or so but using CarPlay you might need to hit a middle 20 volume to get good power and volume. Usually I just lower the bass on the stock eq if needed below the middle line. It’s not easy to find a great balance for everything. The power is definitely there though. It’s enough to get what you can out of those speakers especially considering the quality of the Mavericks interior.I did the speaker upgrade with Infinity Reference bought on Amazon for $99 that included 2-6.5” REF-6532IX & 2-4” x 6” REF-6432CFX and it was an amazing upgrade in clarity of sound. Had to turn the average volume down because of the efficiency of the Infinity speakers. But, when I added the Puzu PZ-C7 DSP Amp , the sound came alive in areas that I've never heard on music that I'm intimately familiar. Once again, the average volume was turned down, but the clarity of the sound increased tremendously.
Best of all about the Infinity speakers is the grill that comes with the 6.5" in the front has the Infinity logo that can be removed and put in the little indentation on the front of the Maverick speaker grill. I painted a couple of flat 2032 batteries flat black and glued the logo on them, then glued the perfectly fitting batteries into the logo indention on the stock speaker grill. It looks pretty good.
I do have a Rockville RW68CA mounted but not connected tot he DSP yet, nor powered which I will do. Had I to do it over, I would not have added the sub because the sound I have now is perfect for me.
I bought the Puzu DSP Amp for $135 from eBay seller cybereveryday. What convinced me to purchase this is that it include the harness for a true plug and play installation for the DSP Amp. Initially I got the wrong Ford harness but the seller was great to work with me and get the right harness for the Maverick. This little 45W RMS DSP Amp made the music come alive for me in my XL and was well worth the $135.00.

Glad you are getting more out of your system. I don't use mine at a 16-20 volume since installing the DSP Amp and I've not experienced any bottom end clipping. I do notice that the input choice does affect volume somewhat. The FM and Satelite inputs are the loudest and the USB is slightly below, but it's not enough to be worrisome for me.
Would you mind sharing which videos you used in order to tune the DSP?
I did not use a video. I just hooked up my computer, ran the software, and adjusted available settings to my taste. With the computer, I was able to save various setups, then compare them. A Real Time Analyzer or mic w/ SPL meter does not hear for me. I didn't try to automate the setup process. Sorry I couldn't be more help with this.
Jeremiah. Did you use front door component speakers? I just bought the Focals with separate tweeter and crossover and ordered the PUZU. Since Ford is running full range to the doors and tweeters, I'm wondering if the PUZU can be used to act as a crossover to separate the frequencies between door and tweeter.

Did you install the RSE-165 crossover unit? If so, did you have to splice into the factory wiring?If anyone is curious, here is a picture of the focal RSE-165 crossover. I'm going to wrap electrical tape around it to make it smaller and try to fit it under the dash where the tweeters are to block out the bass.
I traced out the circuit and the woofer side of the crossover just goes straight through. The tweeter is in series with the capacitor and parallel with the black resistor/inductor?.
Same here. The crossover fits perfectly under the stock tweeter location if you remove the plastic case and just wrap it with duct tape. Cheers!@jdmz I figured out what you were saying with the passive crossover only being active for the tweeter lead wire. I unsoldered the woofer lead wire and soldered it to the input side to reuse the connectors. I also purchased this speaker harness to plug into the factor tweeter lead. I have the glove box and fuse box panel all opened up, so I'm planning on just fixing the crossover somewhere in there.

Thanks for the great thread all. I tried the Focal RSE-165 speaker upgrade with stock head unit and wound up returning the speakers. There was no audible improvement with these speakers and in fact a decrease in base extension. Maybe the Focal mid bass was a bit tighter but the factory speakers have lower range for sure. The stock factory setup may not be great, but it is adequate for now as it is designed to optimize all components that are integrated. I may consider an amp and sub upgrade, but for now just the RSE speaker upgrade did not work for me.
