Coming from a stripped base model 2014 Camry that purchased from my mom after my father passed in 2016 for 12k

Before that had a loaded use car 2005 Sebring XSi loaded purchased in 2008.

Sold the Dakota Crew cap 2003 in 2008 after saying uncle during the last gas price hikes.

Dakota super cab 1995

Toyota 1986 pickup.

Wife's old Pinto

Toyota 1977 Hi-Lux and yes the head gasket went but turned the heat full blast and made it to work and then had it fixed at a garage near work.

Note: except for the oldest 2 the 1986 through Sebring had over 230k mileage before selling.

Wasn't planning on parting with it, but the offer was too good to pass. Traded my '17 MX5RFGT on an Area 51 Lariat Lux w/360.

2004 Jeep Cherokee Laredo (2wd) and beat to hell up 2005 Chevy Colorado (purchased used 2012) all vehicles over 200k. Now my new maverick pretty much combines both + better fuel economy with my Mav... use it both as a family vehicle and as a small work horse to haul or carry when I need it.

Sold my 09 BMW Monaco Blue 335i coupe last summer that i bought new in Germany while stationed in Grafenwoehr. I have been a parasite using my wife's 150 and daughters Escape.

Feels good to own my own car again.

I'm coming from a 2016 chevy cruze (honestly such a piece of garbage), used to have a '97 ranger, and loved the thing. As soon as I saw the maverick I got nostalgic and had to have it.

Coming from a 2010 Taurus SHO. Can't decide if I'm going to keep the Taurus, as it has basically no value, but is still fun, paid for, and AWD.

Can't wait to get rid of my wife's 2015 Buick Encore. By far the worst vehicle I've ever owned - no power, and it barely gets better mileage than my Taurus. We just bought a 2018 Bolt to replace the Buick, so I'm hoping it's gone before the Maverick gets built!

My F150 Supercrew became to large for my needs. So at the time I was looking for a small pickup with AWD but all Ford had was the Ranger, but that was still not what I was looking for. My loaded 2019 Connect (very similar to the Mav) is as close as I could get to my requirements, but lacked AWD (Which I really need for winter). The fully loaded FX4 Lariat on order checks all my boxes. Now the long undetermined wait.

I've owned a lot of vehicles since I started driving in 1989; from first to last they are:

-1977 Toyota Celica ST Coupe Automatic (used)
-1986 Nissan Sentra XE 5-Speed (used)
-1992 Mitsubishi Mighty Max Pickup 5-Speed (new)
-1993 Toyota Paseo 5-Speed (used)
-1997 Chevrolet Tahoe LS 2-Door 4WD Automatic (new)
-1998 Pontiac Grand Am SE Automatic (used)
-1999 Saturn SL2 5-Speed (new)
-2002 Mazda Protege ES 5-Speed (new)
-1988 Saab 900 Turbo 5-Speed (used)
-1992 Ford Ranger XLT 2WD 5-Speed (used)
-2006 Toyota Matrix Base Automatic (new)
-1992 Mazda B2200 2WD 5-Speed (used)
-2005 Dodge Caravan SE Automatic (used)
-2009 Kia Sedona LX Automatic (New)
-1999 Saturn SL 5-Speed (used)
-2012 Mazda 5 Sport 6-Speed (new)
-2015 Ford Fiesta Base 5-Speed (new)
-2018 Kia Sorento LX 2WD Automatic (new)
-2010 Volkswagen Golf Automatic (used)
-2009 Kia Rondo LX Automatic (used-inherited)
-2005 Dodge Dakota SLT 4WD Automatic (used)

Several of these vehicles overlapped. For instance, I owned the Mazda Protege, Saab 900 Turbo, and Ranger XLT all at the same time. I owned the Mazda B2200, Toyota Matrix, and Dodge Caravan at the same time, and the Caravan and Sedona also overlapped before we traded the Caravan on my wife's car (which isn't in the list). I really miss having a small truck which is why the Maverick is so appealing to me. The 2005 Dakota burned tons of gas and wasn't reliable enough to travel, so I sold it. At present we are just making due with my wife's car (now a 2021 Soul X-Line) and my state owned vehicle I use for work while waiting on a replacement for the Sorento.

Just curious to see. It feels like expectations of the Maverick can vary based on what you drove previously.

Edit: for myself in order
06 GMC Sierra 1500 (single cab)
07 mustang GT
1997 F350 CCLB 7.3
1986 4runner (rock crawler but was a daily for a bit)
2003 F350 CCLB 6.0
2013 F150 XLT with the 5.0
2017 Outback limited(current ride)

I have had trucks for the majority of the time. I do enjoy my current outback and seeing how the Maverick is pretty much a outback with a bed and a more trucking interior it just seems like something I'm going to be very familiar with and comfortable in. Along with relatively better efficiency than my current outback and more utility with the bed. It's also fairly affordable even for a loaded trim model.
Coming from: "other"
Motorcycle- keeping (70mpg)
Miata- keeping (35mpg)
SUV, Buick- replacing, (30MPG) with Maverick if it ever gets here. Almost 7 months since ordering the XLT.
The Maverick will bump the fleet average up someday.
