Isn't that what the Director of Marketing, VP Dealer Relations and VP of North America Sales do with their staff? Because if they're delegating this to interns, it could explain a lot about all of these delays!
Ford hires summer interns that have not completed a 4year degree. It's an opportunity to vet possible full time hires when they graduate. Some of the assignments are busy work. Although they get paid very well. Qualify for overtime, test trips just like some full time employees. Some of the temps shine some don't.

Depending on their initiative, translates into more responsibility or not.

I received the same email the other day. I thought to myself, my truck is already built and is being shipped, why am I getting this email now? I called my dealer and they assured me that my Maverick is already built and shipped. Now all that needs to happen is wait for it to arrive. Fingers crossed.

It says "UPDATE", not Change?

Everybody that has an order in with a dealer for a Ford Car, SUV, or Truck got this email -- not just Maverick folks. If your purchase is complete (Sold) then you were not on Ford's list to get the email. As I posted earlier, if you didn't get the email your email isn't in the Ford system and you need to contact your dealer.
The title in the email says " A change in your 2022 Maverick XL order " - the heading in the body of the message says "An Important update about your order' with the other text as noted by the author of this thread. It shouldn't be that difficult for Ford to send out a simple notification without muddying the waters even more - titleing it 'A Change' and then searching thru the text looking for ..what the heck changed (my ride is pure base in CG..did they run out of gray paint? )- just seems sort of amatuerish . Don't they proofread for content and clarity before they send if off to thousands of customers?

Yep, exact same thing. I ordered December of 2021 and haven't heard anything since from my dealer or Ford but then again, I haven't expected to either. My dealer was very upfront with possible wait times and gave me a 5-7 month minimum wait time. The way things are going I just assumed I'd be getting a 2023 model. That being said I'm prepared to wait. I couldn't believe it when I saw the email notification from Ford official, but my balloon was popped rather quickly. The email tells me absolutely nothing, but it's nice to hear from them, I guess?

I guess I appreciate Ford remembering that I exist.
But I totally screamed out loud in joy when I saw the subject and opened this note (generic email blast out to folks in their customer database), and I slouched back down and returned to my expectation for 2023 delivery of a 2023 model.

I am glad I saw this thread before I found the email. I might have had a momentary glimmer of hope that something might actually be happening just to realize nothing is happening.

I work for a Ford dealership and ordered my hybrid lariat the first day they opened orders (6/27/21). My truck was delayed but went into production in Mid December. Delivery was expected for 2/2. On 1/28 it was pushed back to *MAY*. Three days before it was scheduled to arrive they pushed it back 3 solid months. I was mad. Mid February I get an email that says it's been moved up to the end of March. It shipped and made its way to Jacksonville (I'm in central Florida) It was THREE HOURS FROM ME and I received another email saying they required more time and the estimated arrival was being pushed back to MAY again. I have never been so angry and felt so bad for being so irritated (and sorry to say-mean) with a customer service person in my life. A week later it's signed for by the transport company which usually means it's one (two at most) days away... It took 4. The only time in my life I have ever been so anxious, irritated, excited, mad and feeling out of control was when I was in the last day or two of my pregnancies. And the same relief, excitement and sense of 'thank god that's over' as then too 🤣 He's here, he's mine and I love him so far!!! He took 9 months to make it here, but it was worth the wait 💙

Just checked and the same message was received on Friday 3.18.2022;
11/3/2021 order....xl hybrid, VB, cabinet 400v, carpet, tech mats, full spare, and tow hitch.

update. just noticed that it points half way between confirmed and production...might mean parts are being acquired to be selected on the schedule.
