Not a single recall on my 2024 Eco. It was a late year build I think.

Let's not forget GM holds the record for number of recalled vehicles in a year at over 26 MILLION! 2014.

I’m not sure if you can read this article without a subscription but according to the Wall Street Journal, Ford has broken a record with 88 recalls in the first six months of the year.
Likely true. There certainly has been a rash of recalls. However, many of them are minor and folks get in and out without too much fuss. Some of the bigger ones are more of an issue and Ford is constantly working on improving quality control, but with so many "third party" parts suppliers, it's not an easy job.

The biggest issue, in my mind at least, is that Farley came in 5 years ago, SPECIFICALLY to address quality issues, and you could easily argue it's gotten worse under his watch. Automotive quality is something you can generally start to uptick incrementally almost immediately, especially when you start near the bottom. Ford is in desperate need of a CEO capable of implementing widespread changes in their daily operations. Farley seems like a decent guy, and generally a good, likable person, but he sucks as a CEO. Ford's BOD needs to put their pants on & take action.

I look at it as Ford being ahead in voluntary repairs for their products. Most manufacturers just fix issues as they come in. Hopefully the vehicle is out of warranty by then so the customer gets to pay for it. Issuing a recall means Ford is acknowledging there could be problem in the future and are willing to cover the cost.
X2 couldn't have said it better myself!!

Most also low production manufacturers. Except Toyota, who's formula is to rarely update anything except the body designs. They just keep pounding out the same old mechanicals
True and besides the Mazda's and Toyota's the Maverick might have outsold a lot of the other cars on that list combined.

From what I've seen the vast majority of recalls have been for software bugs. Seems Ford needs to hire better programmers or stop outsourcing a lot of the work (I assume they probably are). Following that are bad parts and then finally bad install or factory practices, like the padi lamp thing. Both of the recalls on my Mustang over its life were for software bugs.

Had this done last week. Yes, the picture quality has decreased, no doubt about it. Distant objects are less sharp than before. Haven't noticed any jitters or the horrible lag that it had before. Given that I've had the camera freeze a number of times in the past, I was happy to be getting this update. I suspect they dropped the resolution to make up for the uselessly small RAM configuration of the chipset.
Interesting.

24 XLT here, so I didn't get the brightness increase the prior MY's got, as already done.

From reviewing my videos made pre/post upgrade, no change in resolution or frame rate I'm seeing, so I'm guessing they already recognized some sort of issue (probably why they got the response they did from the NHSTA on this issue), and already lowered the resolution/frame rate at some point. Or I did get an info center update as the only thing I could get, during early summer '24, perhaps that was it, but doubtful.

@am_fm_radio - since you have 24 also, mine was mfg 3/24, what was yours?

2 videos made, just prior to mobile tech, and after.

Just not seeing a difference.
