RTFM? NO! Ford didn't want me to read it or they would have given me one instead of hiding it in the infotainment system or having me search online for it! I usually sit down and skim through one after getting a new vehicle, but I am not doing that sitting in my truck or reading on my phone. $40k and I don't even get a manual. I expect it with a video game, but not with something as complicated as a new vehicle with all the advanced electronic systems. So, I will wait until I have a problem and the search for an answer.

Unfortunately, welcome to the modern world!
Ford's layout of their owners manuals is terrible anyway! IMO.
Go buy a $90,000 Volvo, no printed owner's manual since 2023!
Their manuals used to be the best IMO!
My 2025 Hybrid FWD owners manual search led me to have mine printed at a local sign and print shop from the pdf on Ford's website. It's still laid out poorly, but I have one I can read when technology fails!

I went thru the manual and initial scan was red-lining out the content chapters and then those pages headers for options that didn't apply.
Shortened it up for reading thru by a lot when the EB or AWD stuff is removed, at minimum.

While so many talk about huge manuals now - I had to glance thru old 2005 Rav4 manual other day - still a bunch of wasted text on options that didn't apply, and I never bothered with.

What always got me was the Haynes service manuals that kept adding years, even after major changes were done. Always tried to buy those early (hard on used cars) before that happened.

Times are changing. Says this 71-year-old
All manufacturers are going away from including printed owners manuals included in their vehicles.

They watched Google questions during 22-24MY's and forums such as this to discover the manual was obviously not being used by the majority.

They just never read the fine print on the comments as to why owners weren't doing so.

RTFM is not particularly helpful (and a bit rude). 550+ pages covering every option possible creates a confusing jumble of information. Yes, there is an index for looking up specific options, but if someone can't ask a simple question on this forum, then what is the forum for?
Agree.

The “RT” in RTFM should mean “Refer To”. Who seriously reads the whole thing?

I keep my 550 page manual near an easy chair in my living room. Should keep it in my glove box to be honest.

If I can’t find my answer in the manual - I’ll AAI (Ask AI).

If AI is stumped - I’ll ATF (Ask The Forum) as a last resort. Some folk go directly to ATF without RTFM.

To some this is as offensive as CIL (Cutting In Line). They will call the offender out “Hey you - RTFM!!”

Not sure if Larry David would call a non reader out or defend them TBH.
