I finally hit 10k on my truck having it for a year now. Continentals look fine. Should last another 10k.

Ridiculous, now we have tires w shrinkflation? What’s next windshield wipers that get 10 wipes? My 1977 Accord 1st brand new car for me) got over 80k on original Bridgestones- was so happy I bought same tires to replace them but only got 50k miles- so thought the opposite of this thread where originals are better than replacements- in a fair world they should simply be the same tires, it’s not like they disclose some difference. what a difference 40 yrs makes !
The stock tires on my 2005 Ford lasted 80,000 miles.

There can also be good and bad batches from the same make and model. The second set of 80,000 mile tires lasted me 25,000 from the same make and model. The third set of 80,000 mile tires lasted me 60,000.

The tire making process is not that precise and the wear is not that precise

With a tread-wear warranty I got new tires for 70% discount on that second set.

I think tread wear warranties exist because tire making is imprecise.

Super happy after I replaced the worn out factory tires (27,000 miles) with Michelin Defender 2. Better stick (they don't squeal on the cloverleafs). Defender 2 tires are supposed to last forever, and come with a warranty to match.

In fairness, the factory Continentals had a little bit of life in them. I think they would have made it to 36,000 miles or so. But I love the new tires. Sedate 68 year old driver here who averages 28.6 mpg in gentle driving. No towing. Properly inflated.

Dealership recommended I look into purchasing new tires for my 2024 XLT EB. I have 4561 miles on the truck and they informed me that the tires have over 65% wear. I noticed the rapid wearing of the tire myself, but I have never used Continental tires before as I am a Firestone tire type of guy. I drive pretty hard compared to most drivers, high speed cornering, sudden acceleration and stopping, etc. The front tires show the most wear in the middle of the tread. Anyone have any suggestions or ideas?

Basically, I need to know if it is actual tire wear based on how I drive, or are Continental tires just really bad quality. Thanks all
I remember Continental tires on my 69' Gran Torino way back, so that tire brand has been around for some time. Seems they would have gotten better, if they haven't. They do look cheap, but they held up well for 13k, but it probably is the driver doing the worst.

My original Continental tires are still on my 2022 xlt with 19,000 miles and tread still passes inspection and looks and feels fine.

I’ve never experienced the ‘factory tires sub par’ that I hear parroted. My 2013 EB, AWD, Tow Package Maverick is right at 27k miles on the factory tires and they look to be good for another 20k miles or so.

Your style of driving is hard on tires, I resemble that lol, especially tires that are not all that great to start with.

I'm real curious to what air pressure you're running as center wear can be a symptom of over inflation. Knowing your pressures could help me set mine. I'm running 2# below spec since I run light loading.
I run the standard 35 psi, but when the tires heat up, that pressure is probably around 39 to 40 psi

Mine look good and I have 25K. However, my experience with Continental tires is not favorable but that is with their motorcycle tires.

Just replaced my original Continentals @ 35k and they had enough tread left to pass state inspection in NC. I am planning on a few trips through the mountains in the fall and winter and wanted to have better grip and tread. Less than 5k seems way too early for replacement wear under normal driving conditions. Just for information, I replaced them with Michelin Defender 2. Nice all season tire with a smooth ride, long wear life, and excellent grip. I'll check back in in 6 - 7 years when I change these out.
