On the street or on a track, replacing only one tire can be problematic. At least change two, both front or both rears and it will prevent a mishap (don't ask me how I know (we don't have enough time) but that still might induce over-steer or under-steer potential but that is manageable. Use the other "good" tire for a full sized spareI had to replace one due to puncture. Got the cheapest Firestone I could get because I had less than 10k and figured I'd just replace the Firestone with the Continentals at the same time.
In heavy rain I can feel exactly which tire is the Firestone, because it's the only one not ever so slightly slipping.
