I know, hard to believe. But no reason to jest. I'm cheap and i like to make things last and get the most out of my money. I drive like a Sunday driver granny. That's not to say I take my time accelerating from take off. Last I want to do is piss people off behind me. I just take corners and turns really gently. My cold psi is set to 38 if that makes a difference.
I rarely drive the Mav anymore since I have a company now.
well, at least you are self aware... you are a cheap skate... at the risk of taking unnecessary risks...

Anyone have an opinion on how the OE Conti tires perform in light winter conditions on FWD vehicles (say 1-6 inches of snow, some refrozen ice)?

I had Goodyear WeatherReady tires on my last vehicle that did really well in the winter, but reduced fuel economy by about 10% overall, even more on the interstate, and got really loud after 35,000 miles. Initially I had planned on replacing the OE tires on the Maverick with Pirelli Scorpion WeatherActive from Sam's for around $750 installed, but they were taking forever to deliver and I had already put 1,000 miles on the OE tires so could not really sell them as new take-offs anymore.

Cancelled the order and figured I would try my luck with the OE tires for one Nebraska winter, plus just avoid ice when possible anyway. They seem to ride nice with reasonable noise in normal conditions, but am wondering if I regret that when / if the snow comes.

My 2022 has 26k miles on it and I can get 1 more spring/summer season out of these before replacing. 90% highway paved road driving. FWD Hybrid if that makes a difference
