I'm not sure it's the brakes it is a hum not a squeal or chirping sound and it doesn't happen all the time. I have no problem paying to replace the brakes but the dealer said it was a harmonic sensor and should be covered under warranty
Yeah
I thought it was a bit off and I am in not in any rush. It does not seem that the sound would be a normal wear issue but something else and he said it wasn't covered under my extended warranty. It is why I posted the question because it does not happen all the time as I think it would if...
No I didn't but he said that was approximate cost and to wait until the brakes are done to reduce service charge. I am used to chipping sound when brakes are wearing out not this hum or whine but he said harmonic sensor.
It is not a squeal but a steady high pitched hum or whine. My dealer said it has to do with brakes even though my brakes passed inspection.
Not covered under warranty because it considered part of breaking system and normal use and wear and tear comes into effect. Says it is $900.00
fix to...
Does anyone know about or have heard the harmonic whine while in reverse that is supposed to be warning of excessive brake wear.
(Not the beep beep reverse sound
but a whine that sounds even when you are not braking)
