    I would like to do that but it happens irregularly and it might be hard to hear with all the ambient sounds

    I'm not sure it's the brakes it is a hum not a squeal or chirping sound and it doesn't happen all the time. I have no problem paying to replace the brakes but the dealer said it was a harmonic sensor and should be covered under warranty

    No I didn't but he said that was approximate cost and to wait until the brakes are done to reduce service charge. I am used to chipping sound when brakes are wearing out not this hum or whine but he said harmonic sensor.

    Does anyone know about or have heard the harmonic whine while in reverse that is supposed to be warning of excessive brake wear. (Not the beep beep reverse sound but a whine that sounds even when you are not braking)
