Man, there are some anal-retentive folks in here... I hope you all realize that a tenth of a quart is 1.5% of the total 6.1 quart volume. Who knew that 1.5% could be so important. :ROFLMAO:

Just pour somewhere around 6 quarts in and be done with it.

Yep, pre-2025 is a different engine. Apparently smaller crankcase.

Damn, they got gold specs in there or something? 5 quarts of full synthetic from Walmart is $18.
up charge city, the dealers are for the most part greedy=I usually add the 5 qt bottle and put a little more in from a qt bottle-do not overfill!.
I had an oil change special from "merchants" one time and the oil was almost coming out of the dipstick tube on any D21,the oil was hot I tried to let some out burnt a blister on my finger fumbling around I lost almost a gallon before I got the drain plug back in,checked the oil level, perfect a pint low is not going to hurt anything unless you habitually tach get out.

I just changed oil for the second time, very easy to do except for adding that additional tenth of a quart of oil. I tried to measure and mark on the bottle how much to add, but the bottle slipped and I added way too much. Pulled off the splash shield and went to drain a little off, bolt slipped and I drained too much. Put it back together, got it off the ramps and gave it 15 minutes, then checked the oil and was about 1/3 of a quart low. Went to add and was too lazy to grab the funnel and missed the hole. Cleaned up the mess and finally got the oil level right.
In the manual it states "If the oil level is between the maximum and minimum marks, the oil level is acceptable. Do not add oil. " and 6 quarts would certainly get it there. So I am thinking next time just throw in 6 quarts and call it good. Thoughts, or does someone have a good way to measure the additional amount to add?

6.0 Qts is enough (assuming you changed the oil filter - if not - you always should), but typically put mine at the 'top fill line'. Change mine every 5-6K as I mostly do normal freeway and some city driving. Mine is a '22 2.0EB that uses direct injection (not sure if DI is still used in the 25/26 2.0EB)- which is ok, but a 'dirtier' injection method causing oil to get dirty faster. I run Mobile 1 Advanced synithetic with either Fram Ultra Synthetic or Motorcraft FL910-S ('-S' is the Synthetic oil compatible version). I only have 31k on my '22, but motor runs and performs great.

Wow. Way too much energy put into something that's imprecise to begin with. Drain when warm, not hot. Swap the filter. Wait 10 minutes. Plug and fill with the stated capacity. Done. Forget the 1 or 2 ounces either way. And, as always, check your levels regularly.

Tip: If you have compressed air, blast it in your filler to get the last of the old oil out.
