  1. Airbag Recall - Nightmare or just fine ?

My bags are on order for my truck. Reading this thread - I am seeing a 50/50 response with bad experience / good experience. Based on my experience with my dealership's service dept last week - I am not too worried. Will take pictures up front just in case - if I have to take them after the...
  2. What oil brand will you be using ?

Running Mobile 1 Advanced - however debating whether this is worth the cost as this motor runs incredibly dirty and figure I will be changing oil / filter every 3-5k to keep it clean...
  3. Rattle in the dash (a minor yet major annoyance)

Update: My Maverick was at my dealership's (Capitol Ford - San Jose) service dept the past 2 day and got it back today. Thanks to an awesome Service Advisor (Mike Nolan) who really cared about my concerns with the truck and did an excellent job communicating while my Mav was being worked on. It...
  4. Rattle in the dash (a minor yet major annoyance)

Off the line with a consistent but fairly light acceleration....it was sometimes shifting 1st -> 2nd late causing it to rev up a bit and sometimes would bump to 2nd a bit hard when it did. Slowing to a stop was sometimes kinda a hard downshift from 2nd to 1st - it was enough to seriously get...
  5. Rear belt monitor fault help

...well...I guess I appreciate FoMoCo caring about this....I am sure my dealer won't. They cannot get the rear airbag replacement parts, don't care about the severe dash rattle behind the cluster...and guessing they won't care about the belt monitor either. I absolutely love my Maverick...but...
  6. Replaced front door speakers well worth it for cheap

I did my fronts on my 2022 Mav XLT and tried something I did on a Tacoma I owned the worked out and saved me a few bucks on buying speaker spacers. Remove door panels - watch you tube videos on this for front speaker replacements on Ford Mavericks. Next steps require you to know how to solder...
  7. List of larger aftermarket All-Terrain tires sizes that will fit the Ford Maverick

I pulled the trigger last week on new tires to replace the stock Pirellis on my '22 XLT FX4. I have no plans to put a lift on my Maverick..but plan to add a level kit on front. After looking at all sizes that could put on my truck..I chose 245/65/17's and pretty happy with this choice. Put a...
  8. Dealer Wont Replace Airbags Under Recall!

Like probably most of us...I have received at least 3 recall notices from Ford saying parts are in stock for the side curtain airbag recall. I call my dealer's service dept - they xfer me to the parts dept...I sit on hold for a while, just to be told that they cannot get the parts (without...
  9. 2023 FX4 lifted 1.5” and mounted 245/70R17 tires

How do you like the Walmart Cooper Discoverer AT tires?...i am about to buy a 245/65/17 set to go on my '22 FX4 Mav and cant decide between the Coopers and Falken Rubitreks or AT3s. The Coopers are much closer to the weight of the crap stock FX4 Pirelis at 32lbs.
  10. ***FINAL UPDATE*** Transmission issues

Just read this thread. My '22 xlt 2.0 eb awd mav with 5500 miles has been having weird drivetrain (transmission) issues. Reading this thread explains most of the weird issues i am having when putting it in reverse and accelerating from a stop. I am fearing that I am headed for a transmission...
  11. Rattle in the dash (a minor yet major annoyance)

After 5 months since delivery and loving my Mav, the honeymoon is over. In the past month, I have developed what seems 1 or 2 different dash rattles (including behind the steering wheel / cluster), transmission mis-shifting at low speeds, and most recently, the random condition that causes...
  12. Hill Desent Control Randomly Engages :(

Build: '22 Mav XLT, 2.0EB, AWD, FX4, Lux, 4K Over the last week I have had several incidents where hill desent control has randomly engaged (when disabled at switch) for no reason - resulting in the transmission and throttle going into a 'limp mode' type state that suddenly slows the car with...
  13. Just got my Window Sticker - XLT Lux and Moon roof MSRP prices increased over my ordered prices ...

I had the same thing happen. Show the dealer proof. A good dealer will stand by original price
  14. Driving your Maverick Fast

...me too. My 2.0 EB AWS scoots and is fun zipping around in. I keep thinking the 'coffee grinder' sounds coming out of the engine are because of this and not normal for the design of this little direct injected engine. Other than the engine noise - I love my Mav...
  15. Fitting bike in the bed

Thanks...the turnbuckles to the bed Drings and the lagbolts and washers to secure them are all Home Cheapo items and may add $12 to the cost over the 2x6 and fork mounts. It was well worth the extra cost - that rack and my bikes are extremely stable when driving . Have fun - ride (and drive) safe!
  16. Fitting bike in the bed

ok - pictures of my enhanced ford-designed 2x6 bike rack design. A bit over engineered - but I don't like my rack bouncing around in the bed when hitting bumps with a bike attached to it . The turnbuckles also are theft deterrents as you can thread a padlock through one and will be not able...
  17. Fitting bike in the bed

I leveraged the ford 'maker' 2x6 rack idea that fits width-wise in the bed/ bedliner slot up by the back cab wall. I tweaked this basic design so that is it secured with turn buckles that hook on the bed 'D' rings below this bed slot, pad locks in place, and moved the fork mounting fixtures so...
  18. Great price / experience bying Perimeter Plus security upgrade module- Fairway Ford in Ohio

$99 is a really good deal! Better than the price I paid...which was much better than the the dealer price. The security system works quite well - especially now that Ford has fixed the FordPass app so that it notifies you on your phone when your alarm has gone off.
  19. Kikito Soft Rollup Tonneau Cover - Quick Review

My Mav is a XLT Lux. I assuming the 'Factory Utility Track System' is the track the runs length-wise on the sides with the single adjustable cleat. Mine has that and it does not interfere in any way with the install or use of the Kikito Tonneau cover on this model. 2 months of use show this...
  20. Android Auto, AAWireless, and Wifi being left on on my Andriod Phone ...

I am currently using Android Auto with the AAWireless 'dongle' to connect to my Samsung S10 phone in my '22 Mav XLT, 2.0 EB, XLT, Lux, 4K tow and one of the side affects is that the Android Auto enables WiFi on my phone as soon as it starts up - but does not disable wifi when Android Auto is...
