  1. Half shaft replacement question (recall 25N09)

This is a reason why I think dealerships are shady. Last October they replaced my 3 year old battery under the recall. My battery tested fine but replaced it anyway. Money for them from Ford. I'll take it, but the half-shafts are a different animal, requiring careful installation and wheel...
  2. Half shaft replacement question (recall 25N09)

After more thought I'm inclined to wait. On top of your recommendations, I also don't trust dealership work/skill/knowledge or basically giving a crap. Particularly with warranty work. The multiple times some have had to get this fixed attests to that. It can't all be faulty parts. We'll see...
  3. Do you go 7,500 - 10,000 miles for an oil change?

7500 miles with full synthetic always. 5000 miles if majority trailering or hard/mountain driving. That's for the EB. Seems the hybrid could go 10k without issue.
  4. Half shaft replacement question (recall 25N09)

I recently scheduled my trailer brake module reprogramming recall (26C10) service at the local dealer. The service manager told me I'm also eligible to get my front half shafts replaced under recall 25N09. I have never received any info on this. I know of the issues, but I have an unmolested...
  5. Repaired Update! 25 Mav XLT vs 2 ton meat wall (moose)

Doesn't look like anyone responded so I have a little input on the subject. Better late than never. I wanted a brush guard for protection and looks. The ACC module really limits options if you have it. That aside, I looked at how strong the attachment points are. They are inadequate at best...
  6. Drop in vs Spray in bedliner suggestions.

If you can afford it, I'd go spray in. But I'm not looking to keep things pristine. Especially in the working part of the truck. My spray in has held up well under fairly heavy use for 4 years. I use mats if I need to slide things like firewood or mulch. Easier clean up too.
  7. Members who seem to disappear

Good on both of you for recognizing a great thing when it comes around. Long live the rare example of brillant form AND function coming together.
  8. adaptive cruise control runaway problem

OP has a serious problem. That's not normal at all. My only anomaly with the ACC is some motorcycles. Maybe the smaller profile ones. The problem is when I approach a motorcycle in my lane from behind the system seems to catch it very late and brake very aggressively. Almost like the system...
  9. Random Maverick Photos of the Day Thread! 📸

Saw this on YouTube. The hauler was ready to collapse. Hope he made it!
  10. How is your Ecoboost doing on MPG?

I feel that. How old are you, Tbone?
  11. How is your Ecoboost doing on MPG?

I've found ethanol drives my mpgs down. No ethanol for me. 77k total miles. Average still a tick over 30mpg lifetime. Occasional trailering really gives a hit. I'd be closer to 32.
  12. Ecoboost oil - 6 or 6.1 quatrs?

Wow. Way too much energy put into something that's imprecise to begin with. Drain when warm, not hot. Swap the filter. Wait 10 minutes. Plug and fill with the stated capacity. Done. Forget the 1 or 2 ounces either way. And, as always, check your levels regularly. Tip: If you have compressed...
  13. Ohio Roll Call

Welcome to the club! Great looking Mavs. I tried to have my son buy one, but he wants to go full electric. I live 10 miles east of you just off route 2 by Wild Wings. Great weather is finally here!
  14. High temps mean high MPG

I remember that. Proper Inflation. No number. Just left for us to figure out.
  15. High temps mean high MPG

40 psi cold all around. Not just better mpg, but more even (better) wear. Better steering response. Which is a safety improvement as well. If your tires have a max of 45-50, your chances of a blowout caused by a high than recommended pressure do not increase. Low pressure does. If your tires...
  16. Does Gas Station Brand Actually Change MPG? 🤔⛽️

I get the self-fulfilling nature here, but it's been decades. It continues with the Mav. If I top 500 miles (ecoboost) it invariably is Shell fuel.
  17. Does Gas Station Brand Actually Change MPG? 🤔⛽️

FWIW, in my 40+ years of driving, Shell gives me the best mileage most consistently. Chevron's a close second. Since moving to Ohio I have no access to Chevron anymore. I tried "Kroger" fuel. Total garbage. Probably the ethanol. All anecdotal, but Shell is it for me. FYI, if you get the Shell...
